Pam Worsley of Horsington, Somerset, passed away peacefully on the 2nd of February 2009, much loved wife of Robin and greatly missed by her step-daughters Fiona and Jennie, and family. Her wide circle of friends will also sadly miss her. Donations if desired to R.D.A. (Henstridge) may be sent to Bracher Brothers F/D, Gillingham, Dorset, SP8 4QL. Tel:01747 822 494. To honour Pam, Wincanton Show will therefore also pass away. The show, always held on the 2nd Tuesday in August, will hold many memories. Pam and Robin Worsley co-founded the Wincanton Horse Show in 1979, and have been secretary and chairman from the beginning. We wished to provide the area with a platform for equestrians to show, exhibit and compete their horses and ponies in both local and national competitions. All profits made were donated to charity, over 90K has been given to local and equestrian needs. The show has run continuously for 29 years, through foot and mouth and floods. Over this time we have depended on a loyal team, without whom we would not have been able to manage. Extreme thanks must also go to the owner of the show grounds where the event has been held for many years. Thank you also to the countless competitors whom have attended for over these years. Robin Worsley

Though I did not know Pam or go to the show, what a fantastic effort, raising so much money! I'm sure many people are most thankful. RIP Pam. |
