See if Mrs Vlacq has something for your friend.
I would highly recommend a Vlacq horse for ultimate friendship |

It would help to know which parts of the country she is willing to view horses, as from past experience I have answered these ads only to find the buyer was in eg Devon and only prepared to look at horses within 50 miles.
I also have a sane riding horse, but will not answer any more ads that do not state more specifically where they will look and also the price band they want to pay if buying.
There are too many trying to get horses on the cheap now that they believe people are becoming desperate with the credit crunch.
This is not intended to reflect on your friend, just some past expereinces of eg being offered £200 for the 13 year old unshown dam of an internationally qualified mare. A mare with no problems, sound fit healthy quiet in every way and regular breeder of quality foals. |

Thanks for your replies. My friend is willing to travel for the right horse, as I was when looking for mine, we travelled the country. There is a limit she can go to and it is far in excess of £200 (Pat what an insult to your mare!!). A youngster is no good and anything that needs bringing on as she does not have the experience. She has been riding my Hari but he is just too much for her some days. I am hoping she may find something from here as there are a lot of nice horses for sale at the moment.

Yes, insult! anyone can say they have a fabulous home waiting, but once the paperwork is signed over you cannot control their destinies, as many have found. I am now of the opinion that people SHOULD place more value if it has cost them real money, or else I have given away 3 horse / ponies to people I have known for ever, and did trust, rather than sell cheaply to a stranger.
My mare is only 14 hands so too small for your friend i suspect. |
