Hi Jackie
Take it easy, don't rush. Go out and enjoy yourself.
Allow your horse to take in what is happening around her
Which training ride are you doing.

Good advice from Pauline You could also ask the organiser if there is anyone who would be happy to ride with you as another rider with a sensible horse could help give you and your youngster more confidence and result in a positive experience. As Pauline said 'Which training ride are you doing?'
I have always liked Sven and he was here in South Wales for some time. |

Hi everyone, Thanks for all your advice. All noted and gratefully received. I'm doing the Wentwood Forest ride in South Wales on 22nd Feb. I have several friends who are going who have done endurance before so I think I will be well looked after!
Celia,my little mare is an almost matching bookend to Sven, the first time I saw him I couln't get over the likeness; he has certainly left his stamp on her!! |

Hi Celia, Yes I'm in St Fagans and was at the meeting in Radyr last week with Karen from Stockland.
Look forward to meeting you and seeing if you think Ivory Rose is as much like Sven as I do! |

Wentwood is a great training ride, its has some tough climbs, so take your time and get off and walk if your girl is finding it tough! Use a breastplate/girth if your saddle moves at all Enjoy! I'll be there to! |

Hi, thanks for the advice, breastplate ready for use. Gently increasing the exercise time so that she has a fair chance of not finding it too much like hard work, probably find that it will be me that needs to slow the pace down, I just want to go and enjoy a really good ride in nice surroundings!
Hope to meet you there. |
