I just bought some of these for my horses and I read the back of the box (I don't know why as ai don't usually) and it reads:
Special Precuations for use: Safety studies were not conducted in foals less than 5 months of age, or stallions, the use of Eqvalan Duo oral paste is not recommended in these catagories of animals.
Huh? I was about to give my stallion one.... is this usual that they group stallions in a different catagory and don't test the product for use on them? I have given him dual purpose/all in one wormers before loads of times and not read the back of the box so now I am wondering....?

Unless it has been tested on stallions and foals then the manufaturer is obliged to put that on the pack. The problem with foals is that it is very difficult to guess their weight and overdosing is much easier.

Hi
Current law and new regulations mean that any wormer has to be prescribed and not sold, i.e any outlet that supplies wormers has to be a vet , a pharmacist or an SQP (Suitably Qualified Person). Questions should have, by law, been asked as to your personal situation i.e last date wormed and with what, number of horses treating, any brood mares, stallions or youngstock, grazing management and weight of horses etc etc. There are products that are available that would cover your needs.
If I was you, I would take this up with your supplier, as licensed products are non returnable.
This may seem harsh but hope info helps. Good luck and hope you can sort the situation out.
