Hi
One of my anglos really suits Mark Todd rugs. She is due a heavyweight at some point. I will only use standard cut with no necks.
I seem to remember Jumpers Horse Line were a direct copy of Mark Todd products? And i also remember Derby House travel boots were copies of Mark Todd boots so just wondered if the same could be said for their rugs? (when i say direct copy thats purely my opinion only and im sure they would say they designed them all by themselves!)
As in times of the credit crunch im thinking if a cheaper alternative were available to the Mark Todd that fits the same it mey be worth a try?
I know lots of you guys swear by horseware and fal but they are no good on her.
Look forward to hearing from you, thanks.

I have both Mark Todd (because it was a nice colour) and DH (because I liked the cut) rugs for The Tank - nice fit with both. I bought DH rug from their Wed morning online sale feature for £50 reduced from £70 and the Mark Todd rug I bough from Equestrian Clearance website, reduced down. I don't know wether they are copies but their fit is similar. I'm sorry - I don't know about JHL. |

Sez- how does Derby House compare size wise with Mark Todd? She takes 6'6 in Mark Todd so would she be the same in Derby House? I did check out their mid week sale but rugs had necks so no good for me! |

I used JHL for Mia. They are very good and last well. You can still get them. Not sure about DH as never used them. Managed to pick up a JHL lightweight in 6'3" for Brambles in our local feed merchants earlier this year for less than £40.

I use Mark Todd's and JHL's on mine, they appear to be the same size/shape/design etc, the only differences are the colour schemes and the denier of the outer fabric. If you don't have rug wreckers, I'd go for the JHL :-) |

I don't want to disagree with you but...... I think the mark todd rugs are so HEAVY. Lots of my clients use them but the poor horses must feel they have had a workout after all day in them when they are wet. Great if they work for your horse though....
as for Jumpers HL one of the mares i look after has one and it fits well and the fastenings are generally good quality, however both the leg straps have broken and it will not stay straight on her now. BUT I don't know how old it is as it came with her when they bought her! |

Thanks for the replies.
I had found Old Dairy via google and that was what got me wondering if JHL were like an economy version of Mark Todd, so great to hear good comments about them.
Yes Lou agree totally about equestrian clearance, always some good buys there. Not a huge fan of masta as mine always fit and are waterproof but over time just seem to fall apart! Hows everything with you?
Jamana, not noticed the weight of mine but ive got a medium and light and both are pretty old so perhaps something has changed.
Ive read good reviews on Amigo on here but the horseware rugs just dont fit the anglo, she has such a big shoulder and arched neck that they look like they strangle her and on the purebreds of all different shapes they seem to rub the base of the mane.
I will keep my eyes peeled for Mark Todd bargains or failing that go for a JHL if they are the same fit.
Only thing i like is a nylon lining or whtaever they call it as opposed to a cotton lining but the Mark Todd ones ive seen are cotton which is odd as my old ones arent! |

I've got a JHL for my mare who takes 6ft. It fits perfectly. But she also has a Rambo as well. |
