I would say NO, firstly because he/she would wonder what the burning sensation was, and secondly they would probably try to lick it off - YUCK - I certainly wouldn't fancy having deep heat on my tongue.

basically due to what happened to Namuun earlier on this year whilst she was on loan, all her nerves in her back are trapped and therefore restriciting the blood flow to the rest of her body. i am having someone coming and working with her for this but just wanted to see if there was anything i could do to make her more comfortable.

Blimey Gerri, talk about a blast from the past!
If it was the same stuff I used it was called White Horse Oils :)) We also used it on our whippets after racing :) Brilliant stuff!

You can buy rugs for bad backs, they have like a tin foil bit in them that you move to the appropriate area and it reflects the heat back in. Can't remember what they are called, Ihave one somewhere |

I have a rug like that made by Westgate, picked it up in a sale as thye no longer make them but mine is foil inside the whole rug.
Equissage machines are very pricey and then Equilibrium do a massage pad which did impress me when i looked at it on a stand this year, think retail is £200 but can get it cheaper if you shop around on the net.
Ive had Biofreeze used on me and like most similar products it does feel nice but i never feel it really goes deep enough to have an effect.
I just bought a machine similar to the one Pauline showed. I picked it up in Lloyds chemists its their own brand and was on offer for £4.99 it was primarily for myself, and ive been impressed with it and the first time i used it i said i would try it on the horses. |

I would also suggest Bioflow Boots which will work on the blood supply throughout the whole body. We had a rescued racehorse that had back problems and after wearing the boots for a long period he got so much better that my daughter was able to win showjumping with him. She kept them on him permanently even when out grazing. The Bioflow magnetic rug would be even better but does cost quite a bit of money. If you want more details then PM me.
