We were having a discussion on the yard this morning. If the worst happened to you, what would happen to your horse/s? I honestly don't know. My OH says he would look after her but I'd want her to go to someone who understands arabs. What has anyone else arranged?

I was planning on setting up a trust for Shida so she could fund herself if I had gone before her and wouldn't be a cost to the friend I would have entrusted her to. With Ishara it's a bit different as of course she is younger, if anything happened to me in the near future hopefully she'd go back to Caroline her breeder. Otherwise i'll probably do the same thing if we both make it to old age together and set up a trust for her. |

I really don't know what would happen to mine. Im only 23 so id like to think that wnen i have children that they will become a part of their lives aswell. my other half loves my horses and he can look after them with feeding, rugging etc but he doesnt ride and he has his own hobbies and ambitions. I know that my family and other half would do right by me but whats right for me wouldn't necessary be right for them.
You have made a valid point though |

I have willed my boys to a good friend along with an insurance which will kick in if I slide off the dish. Should keep them till the end of their days with no added expense to her I hope. |

I've left mine to my children with the proviso that if they cannot or are unwilling to look after them they go to the ILPH. my cats likewise but will go to the RSPCA if my family cannot/dont want to cope. |

My horses are catered for in my will. If my OH isn't there to care for them, then they will be left to my Son who will make sure they will go to a suitable home if he can't cope with them. Part of my estate has been set aside to fund their care so that they won't be a financial burden on my family. |

I've decided to outlive mine, I don't want them to go else where. It also means I might have to live to be 90 and still muck out.
Seriously, we ought to leave instructions on our wishes, and see if they can go to the best homes for them. There are a few people I would like to take them, to continue their breeding and care, I would hate their genetic lines to die out and their qualities to be lost, even after I am gone. However, my passing might improve the genetic standing of the human race

All our animals are in the will as are the children!!! All are the responsibility of my parents if they are to old or its to much for them my brother and his partner are named to help also my aunt and uncle.. Bit over the top but thats me..!! There is more than enough money spare now to take care of all as the agreement was the kids went boarding school now only one is left at school .. so more money for kids and animals.. Saying that i have no plans at the mo of going anywhere !!.. |

God forbid, if anything happened to me, my OH and my mum would take over Crystal and Tasey would go back to Sam. It's in my will (which was originally written when I found out I had my allergy to anaesthetics at 15 and updated 3 years ago when I got married) also in my will is the DO Not Rescusitate order if I have a major accident and there is no chance of recovery.
I know it sounds harsh, but being totally dependent on someone else for everything would really be the ultimate torture for me.

Mine are left to the ILPH if OH and I both predecease them, along with some money and my beautiful adult-size rocking horse based on Garnet and with some of her very first mane-pulling in her tail (my present to myself when I turned 50, having wanted one for as long as I had wanted a real horse and costing more than any of our real horses but more economical to feed and shoe). |
