-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi everyone I am new to this site and am hoping that you can help. I am desperatly seeking more info on my gray arab x conamara called Lucy. Here are all the details I know, I hope some one can help!
NAME: Lucy, has been known as Marble in the past I have had her 2 years in September AGE: 20 (no date of birth only that she was born in 1988 approx). COLOUR: Flea bitten gray HEIGHT: 14.2 Microchip no:968000000834290 Basic Id no: 826/075/990008925 She has a hard lump type ting on the right side of her neck. 3 black hoofs and one white
I bought her from a lady called Sarah Wharf in Knutsford who apparently had her for 5-6 years, she told me her friend had bought her from the sales and had rescued her from the meatman (I don't know what sales, Chelsmsford...or something that sounds similar...) Apparently she was in a disabled riding school teaching kids. She is 110% bombproof but isnt too keen on being tide up. She has defo had at leat 3-4 foals in her time. Here are some pics, I really hope someone out there knows some info on her!! Also I was told she had won some big cheshire show a few years ago.
I hope these pics work....apologies if they dont!
Thanks Gemma

Try contacting Barrow farm RDA (just outside chelmsford) though i am sure they would never put any animals into the sales, but Bambers Green EC shut down a few years ago though has recently reopened and they ran an rda group from there i beleive that all the horses were sold on so may be worth trying them for info. |

I remember a Grey Aged pure bred Arab mare going through Beeston Market(Cheshire) some time ago,(??2003 -2004ish) with a lump in her neck. The new folks Mrs Moneypenny posting on AL, was there that day and bought a very nice bay arab stallion, which I think had come from the same place. You only MIGHT find that this mare was a rescue case that had come down from scotland after the BHS had recovered several arab horses from the famous Tadsor stud in Derbyshire, when the owner was taken ill. Some of these horses were taken to scotland and came back to be sold at Beeston, I think to pay there livery bills. Maybe someone else on here will remember the same arabian horses, but I can remember the one grey mare had a lump in her neck, a local lady did buy her and save her from the meat, the price was into meat money. Did the Knutsford lady's pal buy her from Beeston sale (Cheshire) and can she remember if there were others for sale that same day, imparticular a very nice bay stallion with black points and white fetlocks and can she remember WHO was selling them and where any of the others went????. Also, there was several folks there that day at Beeston who all felt the same about these older arabs and the fact that they were offered for sale without reserve. These folks all chatted together and might be able to help you in your search for information. Also, if you do a search on AL for Tadsor and in the archives, you will find some postings still left about what happened to the studs arabs. One AL person on here also ended up with the Tadsor Studs paperwork & pedigree's and was planning to calate the information and put it all in the Records Office Archives at Matlock, Derbyshire for all to see in the future. If you do a search you need to only look at things back around 2004. I could put you in touch with the person who bought the very nice bay stallion as I'm still see them from time to time. Might be on the wrong track but worth a check. ------------------------------------------------------------ This was copied from the old archives on TADSOR.
The remaining Tadsor stallions, (3 of them, plus a grey mare, a bay mare and her gelding son) were at livery in Leicestershire in 2004, I do know that for a fact as I saw them there. So unless these were other ones I know nothing about, which is possible and were horses from the Phase 1 rescue by the BHS? ----------------------------------- Also, we are all aware that several other arab horses that had come from Peggi Jone's Stud in Nth Wales had ended up sold through beeston market, but, the only grey mare I remember that had a lump in her neck, was the one thought to have come from Tadsor. ---------------- Sue ( |
