Has anyone used them? I tried to log in to their website and there was a warning came up and I couldn't access the site. I have a catalogue from them and some of the good rugs are cheaper than I can get them elsewhere but don't want to pay and then have a problem.

I've heard mixed reports about them. I bought two rugs from them and they took about 2 weeks to arrive but they did arrive.
On the H+H website there have been several threads about them. |

Thanks, Vera, makes sense you would have bought rugs from them with Dennis's vast wardrode full of rugs!!!! I will go and have a look at the H&H website.
Hope Dennis is still improving.
Regards

I've bought rugs from them before, and yes they did take an age to arrive but were an absolute bargain. I would order from them again, but would make sure I allow plenty of time until the rugs are actually required...! |

Used them a few times and would use them again but I'm repeatedly told that 48 rugs is enough for two horses!!!!!!!!
(I live in the NE of Scotland where they can go thrugh 3 rugs a day in the really wet weather - my justification anyway!) |

I haven't bought from them so far, as the thing that has always put me off is that the price you think you are paying ISN'T the final price, you still have VAT to add as well as the postage!!! Seems a bit cheeky to me. I fully accept having to pay postage, but when they add on VAT it can bump it up so that your bargain, isn't such a bargain after all! |

Thank you all for your replies. Actually I won't be buying the Rambo duos, they have them in theit=r catalogue but when I managed to get on their website they said there was an error in the catalogue and they were twice the price! If something seems too good to be true then it usually is. They were £104 in the catalogue and over £200 on the website.
Lindsay, you will have to have a head to head with Vera to see who has the most rugs per horse. I love the Duo's and thought at that price I would get a few but have now decided they can manage with their Wugs!

I've found that the turnouts from Schneiders have been fantastic - far cheaper than the UK rugs and no mane loss! |

Haven't used them but do use Equestrian Clearance - lots of good rug offers and some real gems on there too from time to time - my Seatbone saver was half RRP on there and arrived next day |

I sold 6 rugs to a friend of mine - then went out and bought another 2!!
I have bought direct from Schneiders and it does work out cheaper then the UK but a point to remember is to get them to write in large letters GIFT on the parcel as you could get clobbered for import tax. It hasn't happened to me yet but I know someone who had a pay import tax on a halter they bought. |

"GIFT" I'll have to remember that in future! I have to put in an order for the winter as his lordship's grown out of the 72". I think Arabian Emporium may stock the turnouts, not too sure, but you can buy direct, or better still buy with a friend and save postage. |

It's illegal in the US for a commercial vendor to write 'gift' on a package - so many mail order companies will refuse to do so. Apparently the US customs system does catch these things and there are stiff penalties.
Also, bear in mind that the pound has dropped from a 30 year high against the dollar to a 25 year low in just over 3 months - so by the time you have added postage and the possibility of VAT & customs fees, what you thought was a bargain could turn out very expensive indeed!
I get my rugs from the Aerborn factory shop in Nottingham, they are very cheap (approx 6 for the price of one Rambo), excellent quality, a good fit and last extremely well. Plus Aerborn will repair them provided they are washed first!
Buying Aerborn isn't just good for my pocket and for my horses, it also supports a British company and local workers.

I use Fast Tack Direct quite a lot. They are great for rugs and jackets. The last time I ordered a cheap rug they didnt have it in stock and replaced it with a much better quality one for the same price AND APOLOGISED .
If you become a VIP member you get some really good discounts and reduced postage rates.
