Anyone got a pair - if so what are they like? Rather fancy the warm sheepskin lining! What are they like size wise?

I bought a pair January this year as fed up with cold Hunters and my friend was always raving about how good hers were.
The manufactures are local to me so I popped in to buy a pair direct - so this info is from the horses mouth so to speak - they come up large, so Tuffa recommend going down one size.
But, I may have got a dud pair, mine are not in the least bit water resistant and took ages to break in, they are also very heavy to wear all day. On the plus side, everyone comments on what lovely looking boots they are and they're very warm in cold DRY weather :-S |

Not quite the same, but i have a pair of Tuffa Country Rider, and can recommend those....really snug, keep the wet out brilliantly, and dont feel too heavy for traipsing about in if you arent riding They are pretty true to size aswell, unlike some other yard/riding boots, but do allow a little for the sheepskin round your calf if you do buy from the Net, i had to get a slightly wider calf fit for this reason!

they are so cool! i know people who have them at my old yard, no comments on their waterproofness though as it was an entirely indoor dressage yard. they do look amazing on though. and hunters are awful in every way- your feet freeze off and they crack after about 2 weeks wear so they let water in tooh |

I have a pair of Tuffa country riders, very comfy, waterproof etc lasted well as a yard boot also. Only problem i found was that once the sheepskin flattened the boots became a bit big. |

Thanks for the replies!
I've checked on the leg width size & am just outside the standard - but the wide is at least 2" wider (measured over jeans) - how much stretch/give does the standard width have?
I understand that you are also advised to drop a foot size as they are generous - ??
I think I really need to try a pair before buying - trouble is no local stockist!
Humph!! |

hmm not exactly local, but a place in bridgend has them, becky jones hubby mike works there.
i'm a size 4 or 5, in the tuffa boots i'm a size 4. where it zips up is really soft stretchy leather-theres quite a bit of give in them. |

I am delighted with my County rider boots - lovely dark brown nubuck - warm & comfy! They are true to size - unlike the suffolk boots - you need to order the size you normally wear. |
