A friend of a friend recently bought this arab as a first horse from a dealer in Chorleywood. He's a sweet boy but clearly not suitable for a complete novice. He is liver chestnut and about 15.2. He's meant to be 16 and an ex endurance horse. Wouldn't be surprised if he is older. The dealer still hasn't handed over the papers so wondered if anyone on here might have any info on this boy. I'll try and take a picture of him in the week. He has quite scarred legs but seems basically sound. Any info would be much appreciated.

Finally got this boys passport and more info from the dealer. He is apparently an anglo arab but by Quadeha and out of a thoroughbred mare called Tara. The owner of the mare was a Mrs Pugh. Does he ring any bells with anyone. He's a lovely lad but very sensitive and intelligent. He doesn't have an AHS passport and the one he's got was only issued in 2006 so he may have been registered at some point. The only clue was from a Certificate of Covering Mare but that didn't have any detail of him on it other than a date of birth which is 15 Aug 1991. At least it gave us the sire's details. No real details about the mare but the anglo box is ticked so assuming she is either thoroughbred or anglo. |

The AHS may be able to help you as you have his name and DOB and of course his markings. They could tell you if he was registered at any time with them, and if that is the case i assume his true AHS passport has been lost at some point and a new one issued. When i was trying to identify a horse they were very helpful as i had narrowed it down to a couple and sent me out a markings sheet to complete so i could send it back to them to compare against my shortlisted ones.
Would you Pm me the details of the dealer, being so local i like to know ho to avoid! |

Hi there He must have been one of the later foals by Quadeha. He was a lovely boy but when I went to visit him in the early 90's he was already suffering from quite bad arthritis. The only mares they had at the stud were Mayqueen (purebred Arab) and Fayrelands Hawaiian Lady as they were winding the stud down.
I have put a picture of Quadeha on Allbreeds if you havent already seen it. I have his daughter who is now 26 and a great grandaughter.
Carol Banks had Quadeha when I saw him and I understand that she is still based at what was the Fayrelands Stud in Kenilworth. If you want to pm me I can give you the address.
Good luck with your search. |

Thanks Saddlebred, i'm surprised no endurance people recognise him as he was meant to have done a fair bit of endurance. Apparently he was owned by someone in Kent for ten years. My friend is getting on with him really well but sadly his owner still can't really ride him although she is having lessons and fair play to her is pretty determined to carry on. I must say she is very brave cause he really isn't a novice ride at all and she does find herself on the floor quite a lot. I would have conceded defeat but she does love him so I really hope she gets there in the end. When I get my pc fixed i'll put some photos up of him. |

Hi Pauline No don't know anything about the mare other than her name unfortunately. What is the 1984 mare, is she anglo? |
