OK all ancient stuff!!! I need/want/like to live near these. Where we are now - on the hills above the farm there are cairns dating back from the Bronze Age - I love visiting them & if you look on our B&B website there are photos!
So - yesterday we went to visit the farm we are buying & I walked from the farm onto & over the open hill & was guided to two mounds ontop of the mountain above the farm - apparently thought to be cairns/funeral mounds - whatever - but both had the most amazing feeling (to me!)!!!!! So I am ever so happy & know this new home is going to be just right!!!!
Yes - want to find out more about them! A very moving thing - on a large stone just outside the smaller mound - was placed a tablet inscribed to a Chris Corbett 19 years old...with the most moving words - I will copy them down next time I visit....a wonderful memorial to Chris - whoever that person was......
When I set off walking I didn't know these mounds existed - but I seemed drawn in the direction I walked & was delighted when they came into view! Standing on/with them is an intersting experience - I always get very moving feelings - most folk just admire the view! (always ontop of hills with amazing views!!)LOL
Yes - we will hope to be able to offer Self Catering & B&B - but lots of work needed first!!

Judith, My father in law is writing a book on ancient cairns and standing stones and he has come up with some quite interesting theories. He reckons they are all on ley lines and were used by our predecessors as an navigational system. If he ever gets it published I will send you a copy.

Yes - would be VERY interested!!!! I agree about the navigation - the cairns here in Mid Wales - on the Cambrians are on all the high points & I've also noticed marker stones (usually white) on tracks esp through bad going - guiding a path of safe passage??
It sounds idyllic Judith - you're making me want to plan a trip to Wales! I hope you, Alan and the horses all have many happy, blessed years in your new home.
