I have just bought the boy a new bridle which is a stephens complete rolled leather bridle.... I love it and think it will really compliment his head....
I have never owned a complete rolled bridle before and was wondering if there was suppose to be a seam along all the rolled edges - i don't want it to fall apart after a short while?? Its quite dry in places aswell so I was hoping that a good oiling would solve that??
....I wasn't sure if i should send it back? It was £160 reduced to £85!!!

Lovely bridle yep, as far as I am concerned there should be seams, no seams = no stitching = falling apart as to it being dry, give it a coat of some good leather dressing, NOT oil, or it will go soggy Looks like you may have a bargain |

Kirsty, before you give it a leather dressing, please make sure it fits and suits your horse. I borrowed one for my arab, and it looked awful on him.

yes, seams are normal and they look lovely once softened... but like Paul says, not on every horse. We have 2 rolled double bridles and both are now in bits with a noseband on one horse, rolled sliphead for training babies etc etc (btw - both bridles must be nearly 20yrs old and not fallen apart yet!!) |

Simple solution - you'll just have to get another horse that the bridle does suit! |
