I don't know if you remember but a few months ago i posted about the idiot of a gamekeeper who lives in th hourse backing onto my rented field.
After a few months of nothing he's now back to moving the electric fence and my water mysteriously keeps getting switched off when I'm not there! I keep moving them back and switching it back on but myseteriously every evening the same happens. After months of moaning at the farmer I get the field from he has finally promised to put in permanent woden posts for me to attach my tape to with special connectors. Here's hoping this works - any suggestions til then?

Dig a giant hole and camouflage it...... then entice said game keeper onto the trap - whooosh he falls in the hole. Or make a giant snare in a tree. Entice him to stand on the loop - hey presto he goes up in the tree canopy in a net. Super glue his boots together so he can't walk.
Sorry none of those probably helped. Might have made you smile though. |

Run him over first thing tomorrow morning, before you leave for town and then blame on malfunctioning car that has been safety recalled. Failing that, wire the fence up to the mains and watch him fry! |

Charge your battery right up and then hide the fencing unit and hope the irritating g*t frazzles himself?! |

is this the horrible man that hurt one of your horses? or am i mixing up two stories?? |

Thanks everyone. This has been a long standing isue which is now really starting to make me ill wth worry so I have to find some sort of solution soon!
I went up to check on my girls last night and as I do every night was checking all of the boundary fences. He came marching over, shouting the odds about ME moving the fenceline. I told him that I was only moving it back to it's agreed position after he had moved it. He ranted and raved and at one point had me in tears. Mouthing off that I was a liability and that (althouh he didn't say this directly) he did not want us in that field and would do his best to have us removed by whichever means he could. He says that he just wants somewhere to exercise his dogs and that up until my horses went into that field he had free reign over it - bear in mind he has over 30 thousand acres of estate. He also complained about the fence being electrified as his dogs keep zapping themsleves on it - really stupid dogs IMHO if they do it more than once - but he also complains if my grass guzzling welshie goes through the fence if it isn't on - no win situation me thinks!
I'm now not sure whether or not to talk to the farmer again as it was just a piece of land that he was not using and I only pay him a nominal fee, also he doesn't really seem interested in my problems. I aslo can't decide whether or not to talk to the land owner as technically the farmer shouldn't be subletting and I rely on that field to have my horses but then again it is one of his employees that is causing the problems. I am very much willing to reach a compromise - which i thought we had but to be honest I can see me having to leave and sell my girls due to lack of available reasonalbly priced grazing in my area. |

Couldn't you see if you could get a sniper? Or borrow a tank and run him over with it? Don't let an idiot like this make you sell up and move - he'll think he can get away with bullying people and it's not fair that you should be foreced off because he's so obnoxious. |

What a nasty piece of work. Kirsty has a good point. Can you not erect the permanent fencing yourself. Probably not but just a thought. |

It really sounds as though it has got out of hand. Yes I agree you should talk to the farmer again and make a point of saying you want to compromise etc etc, but the fued is making you ill. This guy is using bullying tactics and probably thinks he has one over you as he made you cry so he sees a weakness there! Maybe approach this gamekeeper and say the same, that you are happy to erect a permanent fence allowing him enough room to run his dogs as long as you are assured of a quiet life!! Good luck, and try not to let it get to you, easier said than done I know. Leighxx |

Maybe you should have a bit of a chat to the farmer and ask if he minds if you put some permanent posts to attach the fencing to and go from there - just tell him that this is getting to be a real problem between you and the gamekeeper and think that some permanent posts at location agreed between you and the farmer would be of help. Ask him if he has 5 mins spare to pop over with you when you have got the posts and see where you are putting them so that you can be certain they are in the right place - I presume it is the farmers land not the gamekeepers - if so, he can shove it can't he!! |

Oh Lindsay. Sorry he's getting out of hand. I think you need to speak to the farmer again and if no joy find out who the estate manager is and talk to him. I can come over and lend you some support if you wish. x |

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. Believe me of murder WAS legal it certainly would be an option but I'm sure he feels the same about me too!
Going to see the farmer for a proper chat at the weekend and also one of my good friends helps him out sometimes and I am going to see her tom to have a chat about it and see whats he suggests.
Will keep you posted. x |

Good luck. I have a friend who was verbally abused by a man over a fencing situation recently...we wondered if he would have been so rude if she had been male!! |

speak to the farmer again remember it is his staff that is being rude to you and he is responable for his staffs behaviour and you should not have to put up with this treatment personally l would buy a load of chestnut half rounds or fencing posts and bang them in deep so he can not move them..then use stud gard or your exsisting fanceing....even a plastic covered wire...very hard to shift also if his dogs are worrying the horses borrow a shot gun! you don't have to load it but it looks very impressive.....
