Thanks everyone - I really do not want to sell her, especially as she has been tipped for big things by a top show judge. I bred her as an eventer, and, well - yesterday she jumped out of the field!!! The fence is at least 3'3" and it was a proper jump, not a scamble!! She decided to go and explore, leaving mum calling on the otherside. Little madam wouldn't jump back in though, we had to lead her the long way round!
I have submitted and advert to AL I am hoping that someone might come forward that just wants a 50% share in her (I'd love to retain an interest) or if someone does want to buy her outright, I am praying that they let me produce her. She is such a little poppet - canters into the trailer/lorry when we go to shows, stands like a statue when she has her bath, picks all her toes up for the farrier - she has been the easiest foal that I have ever had to 'train'. |

The Royal was a mediocre day to be honest - I probably wont go again, as overall I was disappointed with the show atmosphere.
In the Small Hunter class I was very disappointed with Evy, especially as she was pulled in 4th, but the lady pulled in 5th pushed in front of us, and the judge failed to realise until after the rosettes had been handed out when he then said "oh - I had you in 4th" but then he would not change it. He also said that Evy was not his type of horse, and that her conformation etc would hav put her in 2nd (horse that won was amazing!!) but she didn't have enough bone for him. He then went on to place Emae 3rd, which I was thrilled about, but later admitted if he had known she was by an Arab he would not have placed her at all.
In the Riding horse class I did not expect to get anything with Evy, as she is not really a riding horse type - I entered it more for Emae. Anyway, Evy was pulled in 3rd, but the mare in 7th was bumped up to 1st when the judge realised that she knew the producer (meaning Evy ended up in 4th). I was still thrilled with this though, as there were some amazing horses in that class, although the one I think should have won it actually ended up about 6th or 7th in the end - she was a truly stunning mare.
Whilst I was over the moon with some results, and cross with others, overall the day was no a very enjoyable one (mainly because of the stress getting there). I don't think I shall return to the Royal, as the overall atmosphere was very much every man for himself, with pushing, shoving and downright unsportsmanlike behavour. |
