No, pasties are very closely related to pies, so not allowed I'm afraid. Will throw him an apple though and he can practice a bit of apple bobbing in time for Halloween. So helpful me. |

I can't believe you guys are having such crap weather! Nice to see none of you have lost your sense of humour. I shall perform a Highland fling or two and see if we can bring the sun out for you! |

Ooooh, fling away, any help shifting this monsoon greatly appreciated. Make sure you're wearing your sporran though, it won't work without it. |

don't catch your toes in the swords as you dance over them. |

Defo need a sporran, think you might have to be munching on a haggis at the same time as well, just to make sure it works. Oh and sensible shoes re the swords. |

munching on a sporrand and balancing a kabre or cabre or big wooden telegraph pole thing or scots pine or whatever those things are on your head. I think you should wear one of those waistcoat things as well as the tartan and a sporran if Merlot insists. Dance away we need all the help we can get. |

Ok, I'm off out to catch a haggis and nab a sporran from some unsuspecting kilted highlander and then the fling can begin. Not sure about balancing the caber - it's better tossed! |

Ok, so I obviously need to give up the flinging and stick to horses. I shall just send as many positive vibes as possible that the rain stops. Failing that, I will take a course in carpentry and we would could start building an ark! Pixie I hope you boy is okay. I know how depressing last summer was for us when we had horses rugged and standing in wet fields freezing cold and all we could do was rotate them in and out to give them a chance to dry. Its horrible when you can't wrap up and keep them cosy. Fingers crossed that it dries up for you all today. |

It is too wet even for the ducks today. We have a small pond in one of the fields that a mommie duck and her six little baby ducklings have been swimming in for the last week. Soooooo cute! They even did a walking tour of the property and I spotted them in the middle of the outdoor school on the first day. Torrential rain here and no sign of them this morning. Mayhem in the barn too as a sparrow hawk has sought refuge from the deluge and is causing swallow pair No4 to have apoplexy as they have a brood of babies in the nest. |
