Hi All,
I've recently moved over to Dubai, leaving my horse on loan with a lovely lady in Essex. I have just received an email saying that she needs to give him back due to financial reasons. I am very sad as he had a good home there for the last few months and I know she thinks very highly of him.
The major problem now is that I'm in Dubai and cannot really fly home due to work commitments and I have to find alternative arrangements for him.
I never wanted to sell him but would of considered it to his current loanee but now I'm not sure what to do. I'm reluctant to put him on full livery somewhere back home as I'm not planning on moving back and I really want a secure home for him.
Any suggestions most welcome. You can email me privately hannah@explorerpublishing.com
Thank you

Haven't received email but then again things are slow here!
Ideally I would love to find him a new loan home but I have doubts and fears as I am not around to check people out so any help would be great.
I will put him back on the classifieds and see what happens. Hopefully Paula wont mind me posting here as it's a bit of an emergency. He's 14.3hh, Grey Polish gelding, the most wonderful temperament you could hope for. Very pretty. Needs bringing on but the basics are there and great potential to do very well under saddle.
Any other ideas? |

Hi Hannah,
How worrying for you. Do you have anyone back here that can make arrangements for you? I know that we have a nationwide list going of people that are prepared to visit potential loanees, for owners in a similar situation to yourself. There are a couple in Essex.
Good luck and please keep us updated.

Hi, he was backed as a 4 yo but then never did a lot. He hacks out alone and in company and has been schooled and works in a nice outline but needs more balance and work on his canter. Jaybird, Ben Martin knows him (used to come and teach) and if you are who I think you are then he rides for your daughter? |

Hi Hannah
Bless, I probably am who you think but Hayley belongs to Brenda not me, we are all in touch on a frequent basis as I am always back & forth to the UK to see my lovely children and grandchildren, why I was interested was I now live in France, I lost Jawhari (Jay) last year and although I do nothing here other than run a B&B I do have a lovely property with nothing to ride, all I want is a nice horse to do small hacks on our tracks something nice & quite, maybe not what you are looking for but perhaps an option?

Thank you everyone for your emails and replies. It means a lot to know there are so many caring people out there. This is really an upsetting time for me and has been said, is hard enough when you're around but being in Dubai makes it a million times worse.
Beryl, it is a possibility but for the time being I would rather look at keeping him local to my friends and family back home. I never really planned on selling him which seems silly now that I am working here for the long term.
I will get back to everyone else by email ASAP but my internet is very unreliable at home!
Any other ideas welcome, my email address is in an earlier post.
Thanks,
Hannah |

I seem to have come to a dead end with enquiries. Have put an advert on the wanted forum and will step up the search. Thank you for the offers of livery which I will consider as a last resort although ideally I would like to find him a permanent home where he will be used to his full potential in either showing or I think he would love endurance. Any more ideas??

Hi Hannah - When you get his feet and maybe his back sorted let me know perhaps I can then go and see him.
Hope you get him sorted. Good luck. |

I need to find out more about what is going on with his back and his feet. In the 6 years I have had him there have never been any problems and now apparantly there are so either they have gone undetected all this time or they are new problems that he is experiencing. Pixie, could you perhaps email me letting me know what was discussed with Julie and yourself? As you can imagine, it's very difficult for me to do a lot stuck over here except email!
Thanks |
