Hi all!
Having seen Lindylou's post about tracking down a horse that she used to ride, I thought I would seek a little info on a chap that I used to ride.
This would have been about 6/7 years ago, I used to go and help at Combe Farm arabians and they had this little gelding arrive, he was sired by one of Michaels stallions, Galliard (Henry) and from Memory his dam was called Magic Fairy Lights. He was known as Guy and I cannot for the life of me remember his proper name, but would if I hear it! He was Bay, with an unusual white face that swept down over one side, and 2 white socks - back and front leg on the same side. I loved riding him and sadly no matter how hard i saved at the time, I wasn't really in a position to buy him and he was sold on. When walking loose in the field he did this really odd little head sway every few strides.
Would love to hear where he ended up and how he is now.
Anyone got any ideas?! All breeds doesnt show the dam, and I he isn't one of the horses listed as Galliards progeny.
Thanks
Bex

Magic Fairylight is my ernie's dam! She belonged to the Tolchards who are based in Buckfastleigh. I think she was a chestnut.... |

Guy was in fact called Generous, he was as Emmalouise said breed by Mrs M Tolchard formerly of Buckfastleigh, Devon. The Tolchards where great supporters of Michael Harris's stallions back then. Guy raced successfully for them, he didnt win but his best race was at Taunton in about 1997 when he was second in the then Furturity race to a top class mare called Shunah. I believe he ended up at Michael Harris's as the Tolchards wanted to purchase a mare he had, and Guy was taken in part exchange. Magic Fairylight was a lovely mare who produced some fab horses, and the Tolchards still have Guy and Ernies half brother Minty, he is grey like Ernie and he would be in his late teens now, he also raced successfully as did Eternal Light. Dont know where he is now but at least that tells you his story up to when you meet him. Ang x

Thanks very much for that Ang, I knew he came in as a Part X and that he had raced before and I am kicking myself for not remembering the name Generous!!
I went to Michaels week after week to help out all day, just to get to take him round the lanes for an hour! |

I know, I regret is - but at the same time would not have changed having spooks if you know what I mean - I am sure someone on here will come up trumps - he is unusual looking enough after all!! |

Not going to Bicton (both Ern and I find showing much too stressful!)but you would be welcome to come and meet Ern! If Guy was anything like my boy -he must have been lovely - ern has gvien me my confidence back and is such a gentle, loving horse.Doesn't tempermament come from the dam? Might be worth further invesitgation with the dams' owners-maybe they know where he is? |
