today my mobile phone fell out of my pocket onto the bonfire and is, needless to say, completely fried (sim card and all!!) this is a pretty major disaster as I foolishly keep all my contact numbers on my phone and cant find the back up list I once wrote!! however, what is worse is that no-one can contact meso does anyone know if, when you get a new phone, you can use your old number - even if the sim card has been destroyed? its off to the phone shop tomorrow to see what can be done but in the meantime does anyone have a clue if you can resurrect your old number or do some kind of divert thingy to your new one. aaaaarrrgh

Ouch! How annoying... I'd be lost without mine. I accidently left the tap on from our bag-in-box wine once and it happily trickled all over the OH's mobile. He was NOT amused. The sim still worked but his phone totally drowned,so he's now borrowing an old brick of mine. I don't know if info can be retrieved but I'd ring where you bought it from and they might give some advice.

oooooohhhh gutted!!!!

If you save your numbers to your sim, your phone company can replace the sim (same number) and I think (only think) they can retrieve numbers - not sure though! but def replace sim with same number....

I usually put my OH's through the washing machine - well I blame him as he should check his pockets before letting me loose with the washing!!

My OH lost his once and we spent all evening ringing it to try to locate it. No Joy. Next morning after he had let his yearlings out of their barn and was bedding down, what should he find....his phone; With a broken screen where one of them had bitten it. we were laughing imagining the yearlings faces with this phone ringing all evening in their barn! I thought that they had tried to answer it and say, "hey your phone is here", but had accidenly bitten it instead!! LOL

BTW you can defintaley keep your old number, you (or phone shop) need to get a special code from your network who will transfer your number, can take 5 days though. If you are staying with same network then should be more straighforward.
