yes congrats ! lets hope the filly is not a SCID carrier like her father Ibn Silver and is clear . When we bought Silver he was a gamble as he was an unlicenced stallion and never been used. what a day that was ! Rushing around with only a few hours to sort out the horses at home and find the cash £250each thank god for cash points as we had to travel up the M4 MILES before any one else got there as he sounded like a real bargin at £500 . What a sweet little horse with a beauitful head and temperement ,we just couldnt leave him there, after watching him inthe indoor school showing off. We paid and Silver followed me in to the trailer ,then we set home back to sunny Wales . We got him licenced and sent his SCID test off to the lab ,sadly he came back as a carrier , but he was still worth the buy,I just loved him. Within that year WE took him all the way to Norfolk to Micheal and Wendy Carrs stud to cover Crystal Treasure what a journey that was !!We stayed in a beautiful cottage and had a good meal out with the Carrs thank god for my credit card, strange I came accross that receipt the other day !. LUCKLY when he came home I picked him up from Newmarket.

I must say that I think Ibn Silver is one of he most significant additions to our Crabbet gene pool recently. His foals to date, both 100% Crabbet and otherwise, seem to be so consistent.
He stamps short, deep Dargee style heads (well, he has three close crosses to Dargee I suppose) plus lovely style and movement. That Indian Magic sire line is so important too, providing the great limbs and athleticism sometimes lacking in those Crabbets with too many crosses to the beautiful "Silver" line. A really good sire and 50% of those babies pop out SCID clear anyway.
Anyone with SCID clear Crabbety mares should seriously consider using him in my humble opinion! Alexia |

Crystal Saphire (Ibn Silver x Crystal Treasure) was 2nd in the foal class at HoCoN on Sunday. She really strutted her stuff & showed everyone that pure Crabbet bloodlines can compete with the more fashionable bloodlines so prevelant today. I think that Daphne has a full brother to her.
