We've had a bad weather warning of thunder and lightening etc!! Yet the sky doesn't look too ominous at all! It's very muggy though. Can't help worrying about my outdoor hairies as three go in the shelters and flippin Zoey hangs around outside!! The two oldies are rugged but I worry I should have left them naked as the stuffy atmosphere! I'm in Norfolk.

Summer 2008 forecast issued TheWeatherOutlook (TWO) summer forecast covering June, July and August is now online here. The headline is for a reasonable summer with warmer than average temperatures, and possibly slightly below average levels of rainfall. In our view the current ENSO (La Niņa / El Niņo phasing ) conditions which look to be trending back towards neutral are one of the factors that should encourage a better then average summer across the UK. During recent years summers have often been better than the long term average, although of course summer 2007 broke the good run bringing copious quantities of rain to many parts of the country. The latest 14 day discussion forecast update is here. Issued 31/05/2008 18:10
Just found that little thing... things maybe looking good!!!

Absolutely bucketing down here in North Hampshire/Berkshire borders. Sigh. Lots of surface water whilst driving to work - yah boo. Only good point (if there are any) is I don't have to water the garden/plants tonight !! |

hah After a weekend of storms, we DID have a good day yesterday, then had horrendous storms all night.
Horses could be seen heads down and munching happily whilst senior GSD chewed his way through the breezeway door into the house and tried to climb under my bed.......he is not a small dog and trying to unstick a quaking mass from a bed frame in the middle of the night is not funnyJunior GSD couldn't give a monkeys and thought it was a game.
My garden and fields now look like lakes and one of my beautiful huge cottonwoods took a direct hit and is mortally wounded.
On the plus side, I won't have to water the vegetables for a day, and the hay fields will benefit. Minus......I swear that mosquitos grow in direct relation to the amount of rainfall, the buggers are twice and big and twice as hungry this morning! Oh, and my basement is flooded.......again.
Hope everyone is safe and sound, if a little damp. |
