Thank you TC, I've found it is really quite tricky to feed the older horse. He gets vast quantities of soaked feed and lots of 'extras'.
He is long-reined out twice a week (walk, trot and canter with bucking) and it is me that has to stop because I am out of breath, one of us is not ageing all that well
He is still leader of the field (nothing would dare challenge him) which is amazing. Sorry rambling a bit Losing your mare at 30 must have been hard, they become such a part of your life.
Kirsty - Raz sounds very like Fari. Overall she is calm and steady but can light up very occasionally and show that famous Farette movement. If she is unsure of something she puts her head right on the floor and snorts and has to have 'thinking time'. It is quite hard to sit there holding the buckle end when faced with a 'monster' but she never takes advantage. |
