looking for recommendations about saddles.would obviously be having it fitted proffesionally but just wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction.the saddle i got with beau is a tiny show saddle (he doesnt have much room for anything big) but its not any good for what id like to do(pleasure rides and poss endurance one day)any advice wd be great
I've always used a working hunter type saddle for General purpose use. Providing it fits your horse well you will normaly be fine with a GP or the working hunter type for lower distance rides, it is only when you get to doing bigger distances and faster speeds that you may find you need a specialsist endurance saddle.
Ideal do lovely saddles and they do bespoke ones at no extra cost. I was lucky to get a 2nd hand Ideal dressage saddle that fitted my pure-bred gelding as if it had been made for him!
Sylvie is currently in a wintec VSD but we are upgrading to a Bates VSD now that she is going so well under saddle. She is still in the medium gullet but has yet to muscle up properly.
Her first saddle was an Ideal VSD Apex but it was wide fitting and was going to require more padding and faff to make it fit her so until she has stopped changing shape so much I find the changeable gullets are great.

I have a WOW saddle for my boy and it's beautiful and SOOOOO comfortable, not cheap , but worth every penny and more. It's so nice to know you don't ahve to worry about changing shape over the seasons or years as the gullets are changeable and the air can be adjusted .
