I have been suffering with eczema on my leg for a long time. It really drove me nuts and I tried many different remedies. Recently I got it on my other leg. It got so bad that I eventually went to the docs yesterday (after suffering for 8 months) and I am completely and utterly astonished!!!
He prescribed Dermol 500 Lotion and I swear to you it really does take out the itch. It stings a bit when I put it on but that is most likely because I have so much broken skin.
I've only used it since yesterday and already it looks much less angry red and does not itch at all.
So fellow eczema sufferers if you haven't tried it - DO!

Active Ingredients are
Benzalkonium Chloride Chlorhexidine Hydrochloride which have antimicrobial activity
and
liquid paraffin isopropyl myristate are emollients
There is too much to type out but it says
Dermol 500 Lotion is formulated for use on dry or problem skin to help treat and prevent the dryness and itching (pruritus) which are common features of skin complaints like eczema and dermatitis.
It doesn't say anything specificly about psoriasis on the leaflet.

I have excema and the only thing that works for me is Betnovate Cream. It has Chlorocresol, Cetostearyl alcohol, white sort paraffin, liquid paraffin, sodium phosphates and purified water. |

Eczema has been a life long friend to me. I have recently been referred to the local hospital. They have found out that I am allergic to dust mites, dogs and horses, but they wont make me itch just make me sneeze runny eyes etc. I have scars on my legs where it has been so bad. I get it simply everywhere. Dont get me wrong I dont look like a leper but I have suffered considerably. Any way apparently mine is genetic so I have to manage it the best I can. But yes Vera Dermol is good, but is more of a moisturiser Ive just b een prescribed some ointment called METOSYN it is brilliant. And also getting hot does not help |

My son suffes from eczema (he is 6) and he has always had very dry leather like skin and flare ups where he gets sore and itchy and it makes him cry We tried all sorts of things to get it under control but as they say, simple is best, it is for us !!
Anyway, we found that cutting out cows milk to drink and changing to goats milk helped a lot, as did bathing in epsom salts. We found this out by accident as one evening Tim was really suffering and I said to OH that he could do with a swim in the sea to help ( my Mum also gets horrid flare ups and it seemed to help her)however as it was January,we thought it would be a bit chilly so OH suggested putting ordinary salt in the bath which i didn't think would work, so he came out with some Epsom salts that we had for our dogs 1 mug in a bathful and it worked wonders
It took the reddness out straight away and after 3 days the flare up had gone. He now has some in about once a week with a mugful everyday if he flares up. We also use baby oil after the bath on good days and if he is ghetting dry or has a bad day we smother him in udder cream this works really well and he now has soft baby skin and hasn't flared up for about 2 months
So no steriods, no prescriptions, just Epsom Salts, baby oil and udder cream
(BTW this routine has also worked for my Mum and a friends little girl who was very badly affected, our health Vistor recomends it to other mums as well) |

Hi
You get Hemp Oil in Holland & Barratt I would go for the bottle to start then switch to the capsules at a later date.
Good luck this really does work in alot of cases.

I use Dermol as a soap substitute and Doublebase as a cream for my eczema. Mine flared up with my current pregnancy - skin went really dry and itchy, but these 2 creams have done the trick and I have baby soft skin again. My son uses Diprobase for his eczema, its a slightly stonger version of aqueous cream and does the trick for him, but his eczema is very mild in comparrision to mine. |

Hi
Not sure if it will help - but helps with psorasis - Dead Sea Salts - From (H&B) - put some in every bath and also use the hand cream flare ups.
Will try Epsom Salts.
