I had a mare on loan from a friend for several years and her sire was Samyr and her dam Ksenia.
Try as I might I could never persuade said friend to sell this wonderful mare to me However the best she has offered is to let me have her foal by her own Crabbet stallion next year, so naturally I've jumped at the chance!
What I wondered is if there are any other Samyr offspring out there. The only one listed on All Breeds is my friends mare, although the dam has produced others: Escapade by Narav Ibn Aswan, Kaviar by Kaspian and Ladoga by Balaton.
My friends mare is a wonderful lady and I've had so much pleasure and fun from her. She is 100% safe and I gained so much confidence from her. I wondered where her lovely temperament and generosity came from?

Thanks for that Sally. Does anyone know the whereabouts of any of these sibblings of Black Bess (my friends mare) and any of their achievements? |

Thanks Sally, but I know all of Misti's babies as my friend bred them all! Karizma also has the THF prefix. Alli Balli Bee is the only one my friend didn't breed as whens he bought Misti he was her foal at foal. He is in Scotland and very successful in Endurance, as is Silvallyah. We lost track of where Allyza and Karizma went unfortunately. St Narreth King Dancer will cover Misti again just shortly and that will be my baby for next year!
Silver Niat also belonged to my friend for a while, but she ended up gelding him as he was very stressed being entire and the only mare they could persuade him to cover was Misti (Black Bess). I understand that he is also still in Scotland and does some endurance as well as showing. |

Samhire did fairly well at HOYS in 2002. I think he was 9th? He sounds a lovely lad.
I'd love to know where Samyr is though and also Ksenia or indeed if they are still alive.
Thanks to everyone who has responded! |
