Hi, I'm new to to the forum and relatively new to arab breeding. We have an Arab stallion - Akhira who at the age of 12 stood for his first season at stud last year. He was bred by my Stud partner who owned both his dam and sire. Sadly his sire died at 13 and Akhira was the only Arab Iain bred. Due to family circumstances he's spent a long time doing nothing except looking stunning and acquiring an exceptional temperament. His bloodlines are causing a bit of a stir and I'd love to know what in his bloodline is so important. I've beend doing some research and am slightly embarressed that we didn't appreciate what we had standing in our fields. If we were looking for a mare to maintain the lines, what should we be looking for? Any info, guidance would be greatly appreciated. http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/akhira2

Welcome to AL and nice to see another Scottish arabian owner  Your boy looks fantastic!! I'm looking to breed Po (my mare) in the future and a Russian or a wonderful Crabbet like your boy is top of the list. Not assuming you would allow me of course 
I recommend you post on 'Tail Female Line' thread on discussions, Gari (aka Egbert) will tell you EVERYTHING about your boy's pedigree and she is a BIG crabbet fan, she'll love him I'm sure

Hi Fee,
Thanks for that. We are based on the Black Isle, just North of Inverness. Where are you? Lindsay is putting her mare to Akhira and its thanks to her that I found Arabian Lines. She also recommends Gari so I shall go and grill her. Nice to hear from you. |
