Just wanted to share this little high with you all. This morning I took Orion ( HT Orient ) to the beach on a little charity ride only 15 miles. It was our first sort of social ride without his companion Huggy Bear who has been his mentor. I was slightly anxious , dunno why, but anyway, I had a chat with my boy and said we can do this on our own now, I will look after you and you look after me. Well, he could not have been better. There was a lovely cool breeze on the open beach, we overtook a couple of riders. I let him go at his own pace, we trotted, cantered, galloped, all with great enthusiasm and under good control. I have never enjoyed a beach ride as much as this one. We had our photo taken with the 'Ship Wreck' on Clevelys beach in the back ground, can't wait to see the photos. People were smiling at us as we galloped past, he just didn't want to stop. We got round in just 1 hr 30 mins and he could have well gone on.I felt there was something special between us, like a bond of understanding and confidence we drew of each other. Sometimes its hard to explain but I am sure alot of you will understand what I am feeling. Sorry for prattling on, I just feel so proud, honoured and very happy. I will shut up now. Kora x PS Thanks to Janet for organising a wonderful ride.

Joanne, are you talking about a young unbroken grey arab called something like Shar about 15.1. Hi Jane, no I haven't been on the web site yet but will do. As soon as I get the photos of the beach ride I will try and put them on here but will need some help. Kora x |

Joanne, Yes I knew him, I thought he was such a proud handsome boy, in fact I was the first one to sit on him before she sent him away to be broken to ride. He was a love. I will E mail Janet and see if I can give you her telephone number as I am sure she will still have all the details. Kora x |
