What do we think......
I'm getting married this summer and would love some photos of myself looking my best with my 2 arabs. Usually in any photos I've got of myself with them I'm in a grubby pair of jeans, wooly hat and covered in slobber and stains. So it would be really nice to get some good pix.
BUT I sense potential disaster. Marim is a real spookmonster and is likely to tun into a snorting, leaping, prancing lunatic at the sight of me a white frock while Neem just cant see me without nuzzling my face and hair. So I could just end up looking like a scarecrow and being dragged around the field on my chin....not good 
What do you guys think - yes or no

Ask Nutter on here if you can borrow her nice white ebay outfit so you can have a practice 
Oh I would go for it, you'll only regret it if you don't.....(I think). My best mate had her lovely Welsh Section D at her wedding and she didn't disgrace herself or anyone else for that matter. Stood there like a true pro. Expect the unexpected and you'll be OK |

My beautiful sweetest-cob-in-the-world Jazmin (RIP) came to my wedding, she was a scrubbed and had flowers matching mine ! she was lit up like a christmas tree on the atmosphere /attention alone and was usually the most laid back mare ever!....so beware. I had friends who took complete charge of her, getting her there and back again after photos and this was a fairly rural church. I don,t want to put a dampner on things but if your horses are easily wound up you don,t want someone being bashed , stood or landed on as it would ruin your day. If you have plenty of space, away from the crowds, somewhere to load safely and someone who is totally capable of handling them.....then why not! My friend Julie rode her mare , in the big white white dress thru the streets of Portsmouth to the church! saying all that I am SO glad my mare was there with me... |

Definitley go for it
But wear a white bed sheet to go muck out and fetch them in for a week or so beforehand ad maybe feed a calmer so you get pics of nice curvey horses - not camels!!!
A pal borrowed my sidesaddle and rode into her wedding on her grey horse to surprise the groom - looked wonderful but she was more worried about losing / damaging my precious 100yr old SS than ruining her wedding!! |

that must have been such a bombproof horse to walk portsmouth - it spooks ME at times!!

Helena, you've just got to do it!! Even if you don't want to do it on the day could you arrange it with your dress on a few days after your wedding??
I would definately want my boy with me... in fact I'd rather marry my boy then grummpy OH - but they both know that!!

Love the pic Polly Do you have any photos of Perissa Vera?
Does anyone else have any wedding pix with their horses, it would be great to see them.
I would not be taking them to the church and risking the life and limb of the general public. Just risking my own dignity and sanity . If it goes ahead the plan is to call to have pix with them after the church bit and before the reception bit, so they would be in their field. Anyone helping with them would also be in their wedding clothes so I probably wont be swamped with volunteers lol
I think I will try the bedsheet thing and take it from there.... |

you know I will help with the horses, if I am here.
As long as you do the bathing the week before, I will brush, tack up, and do them up for you while you are at church or whatever.
You only have to ask.

depends on your horse. i have done different weddings with horses now. i did one for a friend and took her horse to the wedding as a suprise for the bride. she sat on her to have photos as well as standing with her.
the photo below is an idian wedding we did for a friend as a gift coz it's traditional that the groom rides to the wedding. this is odin
this is spider at a wedding we were asked to do. both had really loud drums so we practiced with water barrels.
if you practice you should be ok. good luck! |

I would definitely say 'go for it', but put some practice in first.
I had to get my stallion in from the field on my wedding day, because he wouldn't let anyone else catch him. I didn't bother to practice, but thankfully he knew it was me, even though I looked like a huge white monster with make-up on!!!!
Shame we didn't scrub him up before we took the piccys though!!!! The piccy is courtesy of the limo chauffeur!!! and yes, I did have my wellies on!!!

Definately go for it. Any good photographer can use photoshop and airbrush smudges if there are any telltale grass/slobber stains!

Go for it.
If I ever get married I intend to ride Marigold there. I've even picked out the venue as it's a relatively short hack from the yard so one of my friends can ride her there for me!
Definitely get a white sheet, or buy an 80s monstrosity of a wedding dress from a charity shop and get them used to it beforehand. |

I'd love to ride to my wedding on Tara (this is if I EVER get married that is!!!) I dreamt once I was getting married on the beach and rode there on a white arabian!

I had always admired the picture of Odin in your signature Suzanne, I didn't realise it was when he was at a wedding! Your horses must really trust you to cope with all the noise and crowds of people.
I love the photo of you with your stallion Carla. The more I see these photos the more I want to do it
My photographer is a very 'arty' type and is one of lifes eternal optimists. When I first mentioned the idea she got a bit carried away and had visions of me doing a Julia Roberts in Runaway Bride and galloping up the field bareback in my wedding dress  Nice idea but I'd have to be suicidal to try that one with my pair lol Gemma and Evie you will defintitely have to share photos when you ride your horses to church, that would be fantastic

| Carabineer came to both my weddings!! Well at least something lasted! It's a great idea why should such an important person be left out? If she's really spooky a bit of practice may not go amiss, just make sure on the day a suitably attired and trained friend is there for the major handling. You need to be enjoying it not stressed by it. |
