Hi Beryl
I would be extremely interested to know if a British-bred mare called ARAMI (Bay Aramis/Doosti) - or any of her offspring - is on the list.
Thanks!

I can cross post on the Endurance GB forum if that's okay?
I'd be interested in finding out more about what's for sale - I'll email Tiffany though she has an AOL email address and AOL spam filters usually reject my emails, so if anyone does get any more details perhaps they could also post them on here? |

I would like to know what horses and bloodlines are going to be in this sale. Is there a website or is there going to be one available?

Hi
Iv'e had this information from Tiffany by e-mail so if some of you have not heard from her this is the essence of what's going on.
Just to update you all about the Arab Stud Dispersal.
The sale is expected to take place on the 3rd May 2008. The sale will take place in the Dordogne (Dept 24) near to Campagnac le Quercy on the border with the Lot (Dept 46). Anyone interested in attending, either on the day or beforehand, should contact me by email or telephone to confirm. I can provide translation for those who do not have fluent french.
On offer are around 50 Endurance Arabs, from yearlings to elderly mares, along with colts, some geldings and stallions, most of which have good bloodlines. All have good temperaments and many are broken to ride.
I am visiting the stud in the next day or two to take an inventory of exactly what is available.
Phoenix Rescue Association in France is trying to ensure that none of the stud stock go for meat so we are seeking experienced people who wish to buy horses for riding, as well as people with experience interested in unbroken youngsters. We also welcome enquiries from those seeking companion horses not so viable for sale at auction, such as the older broodmares, geldings etc.
Most of the youngstock and older horses are likely to fetch prices ranging from 500 to 2000 Euros. However, there are also stallions, geldings and young riding horses who will be sold at prices from 1000-10,000 Euros. All come from excellent Endurance lines.

I know someone who may be looking for older mare, not got much money but experienced Arab home with own land, transport would be biggest problem, so would be interested in the list when available. |

Hi Pat
Depending on where they live in the UK really, John Parker was very reasonable for me when I brought Millie over, they come to France every 10 days or so maybe they could be reasonable on a return journey run, I have a friend here who has a big livery yard whom alot of the transporters stay with on thier trips anyone buying could arrange for the horse to be picked up by her and stabled until transporation can be arranged, not as expensive as the UK by far and for a bargin well worth it I hope.
Hopefully this would allay anybodys fears of how can it be done.

Hi all
New e-mail from Tiffany regarding the sales date.
please note the sale will NOT BE ON THE 3rd MAY as hoped. This is because the bailiff cannot attend on that date. Instead it will be brought forward to a date earlier that week, 28/29 or 30 April 2008. I will let everyone know the final date as soon as the officials concerned have confirmed their availability to attend.
Secondly, there will be pre-sale viewing days, again, dates to be confirmed, but more than likely over the weekend of the 25th April just prior to the sale. I am assured that on these days, vets will be available for potential buyers to consult and all horses can be seen. I am unsure if any actual 'trying' of horses can be done as yet but serious purchasers should approach the vendor, Alexandre, directly. His telephone number (for french speakers only) is 05 65 20 13 79 or mobile 06 07 47 85 97. Questions about specific horses should be directed at him.
Thirdly, some of the horses on the list are only available for private sale following the auction. I believe this is due to finalisation of the legal situation with regards to these animals. Included in this are some of the stallions, yearlings and one or two other young endurance horses which will be available to view and offer for, but cannot be purchased until May. Please ask Alexandre for specifics. (French speakers only)
For all other people requiring this in English please sontact Tiffany.

Hi all
Just heard from Tiffany re a change in sale date:-
The sale date is confirmed as WEDNESDAY APRIL 30th at 10am. There will be an Open Day on the 29th April, where horses can be seen and a vet will be present to answer questions/arrange vettings. I am NOT familiar with the French auction system so any questions about auction procedure need to be directed at Alexandre, the vendor. The address of the stud is
Le Roc Campagnac Les Quercy 24550
Alexandre (French only) 05 65 20 13 79 Tiffany (English and translation help) 05 53 31 23 61
There is a lenghty report of the horses & condition if anyone is interested please PM

Who is going then?? I will try to go, we have Holidays so we can go, have to persuade my OH to come along. There are some very old mares on the list in extremely poor condition, you can find pedigrees for them on All Breed. Monique |

I have recieved the sales list and now feel very sad......what will happen to the 26 year old, 22 year old and the other old broodmares, these old ladies deserve to be treated with love & dignity, not face being butchered!!!! There are also apparently 3 fillies in very poor condition who face the same fate. What can we do to help.....we are so far away?? |

Hi
I don't know what to say really, other than these poor horses will end up on the hook without a doubt if they are not purchased privately, I along with Tiffany have sent this sales list to numerous amount of people, I now know it's in most of Europe the UK and hopefully World Wide, hopefully people will step forward and try to purchase, stepping back will allow the meat trade to have a profitable day, I am going to attend the sale and I will buy whatever I can, but I am in the same situation as everybody else in France limited income and large outgoings, this is a land of high taxation, but a pleasure to live in and a haven to horses.
Let's hope for a good sale turnout.
Fingers XXX
