As a follow on to the Courthouse Bloodline thread last year, I thought I'd let interested people know that I recently spoke to Mrs McKechnie re the Colt "Bayseer" she bred out of Blonda. Unfortunately he was gelded, a decision not taken lightly. Blonda is still alive & well at 26! She bred no other colts whilst with Mrs McKechnie, such a shame.

Gail Hodgson at Malton North Yorkshire still has the stallion - Zalim, 26 years - bred by the Abel-Smiths (breeders of Blonda) he is by Bayazar out of the Darjeel/Razehra mare Zareen - he covered a thoroughbred mare last year and she is due to foal May/June - Zalim was a succesful race horse, I believe his time still stands at Southwell.
We have a heavily courthouse bred 4 year old colt - Guisburn Zhalim by Zalim out of Guisburn Shazehra - Sire - Crusader Dam - Shimsha -Shimnar(Samhan/Atrisha) Sayada (El Shaklan / Razehra) Anyone looking for a stallion before he gets the snip, ha, ha!

My friend has a beautiful PBA by Zalim & seen pics of Melanies Colt, he is beautiful too! Anyone looking for a rare & beautifully bred 100% Old English stallion, should definately have a look at Zalim before it's too late! Melanie is your boy really going for the chop? |

I would think that it will be highly likely, he was bred to race, lovely natured, nice to handle, but now really needs to work. We kept him intact due to Zalims age and the Courthouse connection, he still has a lot of growing up to do - alot of the Crusader stock seem to take a long time to mature. When you have 2 stallions on 11 acres it can be musical chairs! Shimsha has just produced another colt foal to Hussain (nice, grey) and we have a pba colt yearling out of Guisburn Zhalims mother, who will make a show hack, by Willowcroft Regal Bronze, so you see we have a few more 'entire' boys than is helpful. We gelded Guisburn Haneef last year (Hussain/Shimsha) and he found a home to the first person who saw him - he was also Reserve Inhand Champion last weekend at the Northern Group Spring Show, and is under saddle this season, so it is nice to see them out......but it is that Courthouse thing.....
