Good luck getting your girls back Annie, and well done for not giving up but do be careful. I'd love one of your dinky pups, but I think my big dogs would be too boisterous for them unfortunately.

Hi All I've been in touch with the Animal Health Trust re a DNA test for the babies. Unfortunately as I do not have both parents it is not going to be possible! ! Apparently dogs are the hardest of all species to DNA. something to do with them all being related to wolves. I explained I had access to a full sibling but that would not work either. the lady was lovely but did baffle me a bit with science. She explained that a chihuahua could have very similar DNA to a German Shepherd. If there are any DNA experts out there I would love to hear from you. In the meantime I can only go off a "mother's instinct" and I'm convinced they are my pups. everyone who has seen them and my previous litter are also convinced. Maybe I should give Jeremy Kyle a ring!!! Cheers Annie |

Annie, it means: All dogs are descended from wolves and would have the same genes initially. The only difference in a gene comes from a mutation and there needs to be a lot of mutations for there to be a big difference in the genes of each individual dog. If the chihuahua and the GSD's genes are very similar there are not enough differences to positively say that a puppy got a gene from this or that parent. Hope this makes sense. |

While I was in the States where my daughter is a vet they seem to have a DNA trest which can tell what breed the dogs are so I would have thought they could tell the parentage as well. Icould be wrong. Perhaps we do not have this test over here yet. |

Hi All Nothing concrete yet to report on the girls. I suspect they are now in the Warrington area with the beloved gypo fraternity!! I am unsure as to how to proceed as you all know what a closed shop that lot operate. There was a Pug dog stolen in identical circumstances 2 weeks ago from a a backyard in the next village. The Pug was with his chum, a Border Collie. They left the collie and just took the Pug!! Luckily the owner got a tip off that his dog had been taken by a local druggie and sold to the gypos for £100. The guy did get his dog back just as it was ready to go to Newcastle. The Police were not interested so the guy, who was a big, strong, built like a brick you know what, took it upon himself to get his dog back and succeeded. I know he had to pay the £100 but he was more than happy to do so to get his little lad back!! I have found out the address of the druggie but again I'm not sure how to tackle that one. Do I go with a bag of "smack" or get a couple of big lads to give him a good "smack" to get any info out of him????? All the babes are now in wonderful new homes. Many thanks to all who offered a home for them. I have some mega pics of them if someone could kindly upload them for me???? Thanks again to all you lovely ALs for your continued support and good wishes. It really does help. Love to all Annie |

Do be careful. Unless you have some big geezers of you own I would ver wary of approaching the druggie. ( I know what I would do, ......and I would defo get some info out of him as to were the dogs went, but not on my own) fingers crossed , and don't give up hope. Polly |
