Hi, having just started to see this on the news in the past week, and also some signs on the m25 towards the area where I live can anyone tell me where the zone starts and ends as at a cost of £200 per day to enter the zone in your horsebox or the cost of a couple of thousand to convert the lorry to have lower emissions, I'm worried if I'm in the zone, I've just bought a lorry I'll never be able to use Hopefully its a similar zone to the congestion charge for which I'm outside but...

Hi
Depends where you are, if you google London emmission zone you should get the map up, my friends are 50 yards inside the zone with two lorries that they now need to sell.

OMG thats awful surely it wont apply to people who only use the m25 a couple of times a year?, it must mean for the big cargo lorries. you must make enquiries to your local council |

Basically it is the whole area within the M25. Peter's lorry a Renault Magnum has a Euro 2 Engine with a Particulates Emission Certificate and that is not accepted so London now is a no go area for us unless the client is prepared to cough up the £200 daily charge. It is also being introduced to cover all white van man, taxi, Fire Engines etc. The only people exempt are the showman eg fairground.
We feel very sorry for the people who live within this zone but Ken Livingstone is seeing us as an easy option to drum up the money for the Olympics.
I wonder what he will do when the shops don't get their deliveries? |

Thanks for the links; have just taken the plunge and put in my postcode. Luckily we are slightly outside the zone, however no attending the SERAHS clinic in April I had planned as the venue is just inside the zone and I cant afford £200 for one visit. Hopefully no one of you will be affected either. Thanks for the advice |

Hi Lyndilou when I looked a couple of weeks ago at where it was i'm sure nearly all of it was inside the M25 and the bit of m25 that crosses it is excluded Kirsty |

Thanks for the links, very useful, both Kempton Park and Sandown racecourses are outside the zone, which is great for us

Don't think it's just lorries, either. From 2010 my land rover would appear to be non compliant. I think it's just going to stop people going to London, personally. Not that Kezza will be bothered - she gets a nervous tick every time she passes the Watford Gap and believes that bad things happen in the south |
