Im looking into the same thing. I checked on the DVLA website and I read it that you dont need to do a test providing you dont go over 3.5 tonnes, with the trailer not exceeding 750kgs. I hope this is the case because I dont think I will go over 3.5tonnes.
I'm having our mechanic friend look over the box once we have a way to tow it. It's an old box but its been well looked after and has 5 brand new tyres and also had the floor replaced very recently.
Anyone taken the towing test? Be good to hear someone who's had experience of it.
Last year I bought an F reg Bedford AWD for £2500 after looking at it once. I have common sense but no more idea about lorries than anyone else - it just felt right and had a good chasis and engine. I love my lorry to bits - Tonk may be old but she's done me proud so far. Any lorry can go boom at any minute. Just because it's cheap doesn't make it a deathtrap.
