Derek is a young saluki x whippet with an alcohol problem.I don't GIVE him booze of course and l.m far too well practiced with thieving hounds to let his nose near a glass. So Derek has formed a new strategy. He knocks the table-not enough to topple the wine glass but enough to cause it to slop over a little. Then he waits till I lift the glass and licks the table clean.Well they do say that alcoholics are cunning. He waits for a full glass to be sure of the overspill..

I wish l could afford time+money to be a boozer .Derek got into the 'what mom drinks' habit soo after he was rescued as a traveller's 3mnth old pup.I'd let him finisg the cold dregs of my tea so he stands by whenever l hold a cup. This extension to a glass ir a recent twist

I had a rescue lurcher who loved her tipple, sadly gone from us now, but you dare not leave a glass of ANYTHING within reach of her or she just inhaled it.

my old staffi would love it when we had friends round - she would have her nose in every drink that was put in reach! she never did knock one over - she had it down to a fine art!

My old TB stallion always had stout in his feed about 3 times a week. He loved it! It just kept him interested in his food, he tended to worry if there were ladies about and it was hard to keep him eating at times, the stout really helped.

All dogs love Baileys (it's the cream in it)Last bottle l had here l never got to open. They chewed the top off and guzzlf the lot.Never did find out whodunnit-there were no obvious hangovers that l could see.I've met a lot of beer drinking staffies though none of my lot will touch a beer glass.I' ve never seen a hound that isn't a budding dipsomaniac. The crowning example was the theft of an unopened bottle of Stoli (vodka)Top chewf off and not a drop left in the bottle or on the floor. My bottle of poitin (purely for rubbing sore muscles of course)is kept under lock and key!
