Ps: Interesting to see that Mareekah is pure in the strain Koheilan Rodania - both her dam's and her sire's damlines go to the Crabbet mare Rodania via Rose of Sharon. I was recently sent a photo of Rose of Sharon and thought I'd share it with you - the photo shows her at 21 years of age after 13 foals!

'Rodanias' do have a reputation for hotness But also for intelligence and stamina! Rodania herself had a difficult temperament because she had suffered abuse before being purchased by the Blunts.

If that was the case, then it was not hereditory so would not have past on ( perhaps thats what they thought at the time as they had no way of knowing that it could be an hereditory trait) Minuette and all her daughters had a spirited nature , being decended for Rodaia but always loving with it |

I am sure you are right Lynda, my point only was that they may be spirited, but no more than what is manageable - exactly because they are intelligent and loyal too! Rodania may have been grumpy as well as hot but to my knowledge she didn't pass on that trait!
