Hi, she is mainly Crabbet/Old English/Polish, and there is also a few Egyptians back in the lines. I just took a quick check, now I'm off to bed! I'll check her more properly tomorrow!

Just kidding.. I'll check his bloodlines properly for you! It might take a day or two though!

Hi Rebeckah, sorry for the delay! It was a very tough pedigree to research, but fun though.. pheew!
He is 54,69% Polish, 32,64% Crabbet/Old English, 9,55% Egyptian/Old Eg. related and 3,12% Russian. Many of the Eg/Old Eg-lines is Davenport foundation & breeding.
Sireline is Straight Egyptian through Ruminaja Ali - to Saklawi I Or.Ar. Damline is Crabbet through Battla - to Basilisk Or.Ar. Strain: Saqlawi Jidran.
Now you know what your boy has in his blood!

Hi Bia
Can I be really cheeky and ask you to take a look at Angel's pedigree. I think she is mainly Polish but it would be interesting to see if there is anything else mixed in.
Her pedigree is: http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/crusaders+angel2
How to you tell whether they are Egyptian etc? Is it just years of experience, the names or voodoo?
Many many thanks, Lucy & Angel |

Alethea, you forgot to tell me the name of your mare(s)!
Louise, Sonny is roughly 28% Egyptian and 72% Old English with a dash of Polish trough Nitez (by Witez II PL). Sonny is 72,45% Crabbet, and he also has some lines to Babson & Davenport among others. Strain: Hamdani Simri (Selma I Or.Ar.)
Lucy, yes.. Angel is mainly Polish - 68,75% (with a little dash from France) and 31,25% Old English, all in all including 32,61% Crabbet. Strain: Kehailet El Krush (Dafina Or.Ar.).
Katherine, I have a lot of books and also access to a database in US which help me very much. I have also owned horses of various bloodlines and learned to 'read' their pedigrees. It's fascinating and very addicted! I checked your boy up and filled in info on allbreed for you. http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/howl+an+lor+kemysk
No woodooo.. just workooo!

Thanks Bia - thats great to know! I think the "T" must be silent on the Crabbet .
At the risk of seeming really dumb - what does the strain part mean?
Thanks again, Lucy & Angel |

Hi
Im facinated reading this thread.
Bia would you mind looking into my mares pedigree MO Beulahs Gold, she is on the all breed pedigree website. I have been told she is mainly Russian but would be interested in learning more.
Like Lucy im not so sure on what the strain part is either.
Many thanks in advance.
