Great Stuff Melynda, Glad to see your sorting it. Do you think this confirms another Spanish connection with Carmen & Dona Clara....& Espagnola. Don't know if there are any Spanish Hunter Stud books in existance. Did Henry's Daughter get a mention somewhere, wonder if she's still about ??.
Princes Risborough Horse Show, Laurel Farm, Longwick. The event starts at 9am and a crew from Princes Risborough Fire Station will attend with a fire engine from 10.30am to 2pm. Found this wonder if they attended in 1935.
and I've just bought the NPS stud books for 1934 - 1939 & the HIS Vol. IX for 1900 - 1901, wonder who has the years between Dona Clara & IX.. Regards & Thanks Sue.. |

Oliver Dixon the breeder of Carmen IV is also the owner of 2 registered geldings in the same H.S.B. XIV. Grand Slam foaled 1928, no breeding details. Toome Bridge also foaled 1928 by Vigneron (T.B.) out of Lady Kathleen (H.S.B. reg no. 6858) by Sir Patrick. This one won at Royal Dublin. Mr Oliver Dixon appears in Vol VII (1914/1915) as a seller of Mare no 5051 - Jessica III foaled 1898 no breeding details so he seems to have been selling a few mares etc for quite a number of years. Don't think any of the above have anything to do with Carmen though. I am missing H.S.B. XV otherwise I got nos VII and XVI - XX. Would love to get hold of the last three XXI -XIII if anyone got them. My mares great dam is registered in no XXIII but I have only seen a photocopy of the entry so far.
