Anyone know or heard of this mare, she may be in the Irish Stud books or Hunter Stud books, any help with her breeding would be great..Thanks..

What year are we talking about. Gortnana is a place in Ireland so irish sounds very possible. There is a Gortnana (1988) on allbreed, skewbald irish draught. |

| Your quite right Melynda,this mare was born in Gortnana Ireland,that's where her name came from, she was born the year the folks moved in. she is Horse Board Registered and I am trying to checkout he lines, the folks that bred her ( although the gent is now dead) told me she was out of a mare called Innis Free, another twist to a place in Ireland. She's NON Arab, and the dam of my very nice coloured TBX mare. I was wondering if she's present in any of your old HIS books. Will check her date of birth and come back later. Thanks for your interest. The only other thing I can add is that the ID society will be looking for her as well after I had a chat to them at Equine Event, and that this family in Ireland used to put all their cross bred mares back to TB's. When Gortnana arrived in this country she was purchased and shown by the Pauldary Stud, and they added Pauldary to her name when she was with them, I do know who has the mare at the mo and she has a stallion of hers standing at stud in Scotland. Your right on target with this one Melynda, Gortnana 1988,158cm.SK Mare,IHB 2088983.breeder Clement McMahan Snr. and Hilton View have their own web page so I have emailed them.
Innis Free 1984.Piebald. 157cms.IHB.1933175. was not registered untill December 1990, she had a Black foal in 1986, and I need more info about the years up to 1989, when she had Hilton Rambler by Touch Stone. I also see she produced several coloured offsprings.

| Had a bit more info from the Horse Board, they tell me Gortnana has a foal in 1991, by Weston Promise,a colt & swewbald, but still have no name.so must have been when she was in Ireland, but can't find any record of it any where yet...Heard nothing from Hilton View after my email, so will have to give them a ring...Thanks Folks.
