Hello
I have always wondered what percentage Crabbet my mare Kerry is but have absolutely no idea where to start working it out! The thread on the main page directs me here (to Barabia) I hope you don't mind me asking? If you could help me i would be so very grateful!
She is called Kerridwen - Sire - Atashah - Dam - Kalis (think thats right i don't have her papers in front of me! She was foaled 1991.
Also and now im being really cheeky! I don't think he has much Crabbet but now ive started typing this i wondered about my boy Dinki. He is registered MG Fasha (1998) Sire - Taj el Nil - Dam - Bint Farida.
I hope you don't mind me asking but i would really appreciate your help and knowledge on this!
Carol

Thanks very much! She looks typical Crabbet she is the mare in my sig in the line up at a show. 4 white socks to her knees/hocks and rich chestnut with a platinum mane in the summer. She is a lovely mare to do but has been poorly for a few weeks with an infection that has travelled up her leg
Its very interesting to see how the lines travel and if she is eligable for the shows as it would be something extra for us to do with her

Hi Carol, make her ready for the Shows next year!!
'Kerry' is 87,77% Crabbet (87,76855) & 100% OE (Old English)! A lovely pedigree with 3 x Nuhra Or.Ar. (Bahraini mare), 2 x Dafina Or.Ar. close up in the middle of the ped. Also the Courthouse stallion Rheoboam in the 5th generation. I've put her up on Allbreed, go have a look. I will fill in some missing info later. She looks beautiful on your sig-pic, would love to see it in a big size!!
Sireline: Mesaoud (Zobeyni Or.Ar) http://www.arieana.com/nbmesaou.html#mesaoud Damline: Nefisa (Dajania Or.Ar) http://www.arieana.com/nbnefisa.html#nefisa Strain: Kuhaylah Dajanieh (a Kuhailah-Adjuz)
'Dinki' is (hold your hat!)34,54% Crabbet (34,539793) with lines to Egypt/Spain/Poland.. and of course UK (Crabbet/OE! He is also on Allbreed!
Sireline: Nazeer (Saklawi I Or.Ar) http://www.horses-etc.com/Arabians/Nazeer.shtml Damline: Bint Helwa (Ghazieh Or.Ar) http://www.arieana.com/nbbinthe.html Strain: Seglawi Jedran

Hi Bia
Thank you so much for working out % for me! What a lovely suprise too that she comes from such good lines. We are hoping to put her in foal next year before she gets too old. She had a foal when she was younger but she will be 17 in the spring although she is still a very fit mare. We have done quite alot of showing with her and she has done us proud - she was 3rd at the Nationals as an open mare a few years ago but has had a break for last 2 years. Will be looking for some advice and recommendations of stallions to suit her bloodlines and produce the type we are after but i will put that as a separate thread with some pics to give everyone a better idea of what would suit her.
Many thanks again its really kind of you

You're welcome, Carol & Cheryl. I love to do these kind of work!
Carol, I suggest you to ask Egbert (Gari) in the 'Tail female line' thread about advice re stallions. Have you read that thread? It's lovely to read all the answers in there!!

Bia, this thread has the potential to run and run, I think! Lots of people will be asking you the same thing - so here goes, would you have the time to work out my two?
My first horse was Alpha Laval(known to me as Kofi and sadly now at Rainbow Bridge), and my present boy is MAS Khan El Ajuz, both of them are on allbreeds and I would love to know their respective Crabbet percentages.Khan's strain is Kuheilan Ajuz and Kofi was a Seglawi Jedrani, I believe.
BTW, Khan's tail female line only goes back to Mahawiliyah and, apart from being owned by JC Spence and Mr Sword, I can't find out anything about her yet.
Thank you in advance! |

Hi again!
Alpha Laval is (was) 86,23% Crabbet, 87,5% Old Eng. & 12,5% Polish (from Grojec). You're correct about his strain: Seglawi Jedran. His damline is Bint Helwa to Ghazieh Or.Ar, see a link above somewere.
'Khan' is 92,88% Crabbet and there is some lines to Russia/Poland & Egypt.. I guess you already knew that.
I know that Mahawiliyah is a Kehilah (Kuhaylah) can be spelled in many various ways.. but I don't know more than what's written at allbreed. I've tried to search about her, but no one seams to know more either!! She had 7 foals, but only 2 is bred on.. Sharaya and Rixiliyah.

Bia, thank you very much! I had been told that Kofi was Old English and Polish but I never knew how much of the OE was Crabbet until you worked it out. And it's great to know that Khan's Crabbet %age is so high. Now I want to find out more about Mahawiliyah, I might put up a thread asking for info about Messrs Spence and Sword. Thanks again |
