My new mare came with rugs but they are all huge around her shoulders, are there any brands that are narrower around the shoulder??

The best rugs are the Schneider ones,. They are great.
Also there is some rugs advertised on the Misc section also with adjustable shoulders, Just waiting for them to be made ive ordered an indoor one.

Another Weatherbeeta vote here. I asked the same question as you a while ago and was bombarded with weatherbeeta recommendations and have to say - they were right.

Sandie, I had a fall out with Weatherbeeta a few years back when I had the shop, every single rug I'd had from them leaked! not very good for business they have improved I know, but it really put me off. |

I found that the Amigo rugs are the best for very narrow fronts (used them on my yearling)
But.................I am a massive Fal fan - As far as I am concerend they are the best rugs going! |

| I love both Fal and Weatherbeeta. They both seem to fit really well and I've had no problems with rubbing from the Weatherbeeta's, although I have had some rubs from the Fals. May just have been that particular horses shape as they were fine with my youngster?! |

I found Mark Todd rugs the best for my Arab, bought him a new lightweight with a detachable neck rug recently on ebay that is perfect fit and the mediumweight I bought years ago is still great. Though we're on quite a tight budget so not tried things like Fal  |

I use Saxon (also quite cheap - so good if your horse is rough on rugs) and this morning got a nice Rhinegold rain sheet ready for spring/summer.
I find these fit Amelia okay - although I do use an antirub bib during the winter as she's out 24/7.
When finding out which ones were likely to be best I measured her every which way with a bit of string then took that along to the saddlers and measured the different rugs. It's surprising how much difference there is between the different makes, even ones that are supposed to be the same size!

Also meant to say: Lansdown rugs will make to measure for very little extra cost, very useful if your horse is not a standard shape. And they're beautiful rugs.

| Fal rugs for my Arabs, they last for years and years, and never any rubs, and they are the only rugs that I have found that truly fit my Arabs. Worth every penny |

Grey Girl, I find Rhinegold fit quite well and so do Olympian. I only have these makes in stable rugs so will be interesting to hear how yours fairs in the great outdoors!.

| Hi, you can always have two tucks put in at the neck (one on either side of the neck) to pull the rug up a bit higher, works wonders for horses with narrow chests. Especially if they are growing as you can let them out at a later date. |

| My friend put her lightweight Fal rain sheet on my arab last night as it was so warm. This morning she found it on the floor with everything still done up and a happy horse munching elsewhere! |

| I agree with Fal, expensive-ish but they last for years and come up like new when washed. They seem to fit arabs well because they are narrower around the neck and do not rub. |
