Hi there, I am trying to find the pedigree of a purebred stallion called "Saffendi". He is registered somewhere in AHSB VOL IX but so far I have been unable to find any info on him. Does anyone know if you can access the AHSB volumes anywhere online? He isn't registered on the All Breed Pedigree site and I have tried to get info fromt he AHS (twice now!) but with no reply... You guys seem very knowledgeable on this forum so any help or advice you can give me would be much appreciated!!

Many thanks

Hi Otto and Welcome to AL.

I don't have any AHSB studbooks, but I've access to a Database in US who lists every horse in the whole world. There is NO 'Saffendi' listed, so I guess it's a stable name? I noticed that Vol. IX has horses born around 50's.

Do you have any more info??

Bia

Correction!

I do have Vol 1X but there is no mention of a horse called Saffendi, are you sure you have the correct name?

I have found a horse called Saffendi, and he is registered in the Part bred Arab register Vol 1X.

Chestnut born 1968 by Sahar AHSB Vol 1X out of Farina (no breeding given).

Hope this helps.

I add him to Allbreed: http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/saffendi
There is a lot of mares called Farina, so I had to add a new one because we don't know who she is!

Hi there again - sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Thanks so much for all the posts everyone.

I'm particularly interested in Lynda's post because I know for definate that Saffendi's sire was called Sahar and his dam Farina so this sounds like the right chap. I was told he was purebred but the person who told me may have got this wrong!

I have a beautiful part bred mare by Saffendi who is now 29 years old!! 1968 would be about the right sort of year for Saffendi as my mare was born in 1978. But I don't have any info about Farina either...

Thanks for adding him to Allbreed Bia! This means a lot to me as I have been trying to trace my mare's pedigree for years - she is a very special mare who we have had the pleasure of owning for over 20 years now.

Thanks again - this is a great site BTW! I am now also the proud owner of a 2 year old Polish purebred so no doubt I will be posting again soon..

Otto
