My problem with singing to mine while riding is that other the only songs I know all of the words to are Christmas carols thanks to 5 years of school concerts and that sounds a bit odd in June!
Laura wibbles constantly at the horses when riding (and growls too whan tantrums bubble up!). Singing does help with rhythm, esp schooling babies and thankfully we're high up on a quiet hill so no-one will here her warbling nursery rhymes as the horse highblows around the arena. Verbal commands are really important to us - she has horses doing walk to canter and back on the lunge (but without a lungeline) and it works when you're on board. then you can pair the command they know with the new aid and then eventually drop the command. So prattle on I say...Trouble is... when you get into a dressage arena you need your mouth taped shut!!

you can always talk to your horse under your breath partic when going away from the judge your horse has far better hearing than any human as long as your lips dont move !!!
