I have noticed that there are a few topics re Palomino's, so thought I would ask if anyone could recommend a high percentage Arab Palomino / Cremelo Stallion, particularly one that offers frozen semen, or if anyone knows of a Stallion in France? Ideally between 14.1 & 15.3hh? Am looking for next year for my PBA, she has Palomino lines on her Dam side (Bon Ami Khalleeb) & I would like to try & breed a Palomino from her.

Thanks for your replies, I have e-mailed the owners of both Stallions recommended, to see if they offer Frozen Semen, as they are both quite some way from me. This may sound a bit thick on my part but I don't know much about breeding Palomino's but if you put a Palomino Stallion on a Chestnut mare what are the chances of getting a Palomino foal? My mares dam was Palomino, would that increase the chances? I have been told that you are guaranteed a Palomino if you use a Cremello Stallion. Also Sarah, I've seen the photo of your young boy Sameon Golden Virtue, he's beautiful with lovely breeding, you must be so proud! |

Kastell, You are guaranteed a palomino, with a cremello and a chestnut. I think its about 50/50 with a palomino and a chestnut. |

Did you know there is a palomino thoroughbred colt arrived in Britain? Only a yearling, wonder what his stud fee will be? palomino anglo, that would be novel.
The USA has people with the resources to track down and use unusual colours to create a desired outcome. All made more possible by advances in genetics enabling colour genes to be mapped.
There used to be a fabulous 7/8 Arab palomino stallion when I was a girl. Wonderful temperament, ran with his mares. Breeding these high percentage Arab palominos became a dream, never a reality. |

Cant swear to the name but I think it was Esgobty Alleluia. I had sent my half TB flaxen, (white tail, blond mane) mare to the Anglo, but she came back in season late and he'd been sold, so used this stallion. It was not to be, she slipped a palomino colt a couple of months early. I then went on to send her daughter to a pure bred Arab, Kairwan, and she produced a show pony quality filly. |

I have somewhere the 1972 pony stallion guide, there were quite a few advertised in that, it would be where I found him. some of the old Arabs as well, Gerwazy, Legend of Europe, Kopek?, Korrinthe? also the palominos, Mr. Sun Tan, Bubbly, Show pony sires Bwylch prefixes.
Must look for it to reminise! |
