Hi all. Looking for somewhere abit different for our hols next March and quite like the look of Cape Verde but dont know anyone thats been. Any advice would be greatful
Hi Brenda We were going to Cape Verde this year but had to go into hozzy so did not make it. I googled it and got a great brochure callled the "Cape Verde Experience" lots of information and places to stay. Not the cheapest place in the world but looks great. Very much a watersports type place. What we liked was that its only a 6hr flight from England so not long haul. Sue
Hi there - my parents have been and liked it, they're going again this winter. They said there's not much going on, so not much to do more than relax and be on the beach. Not the place to go if you like clubbing, shopping, cafe culture etc. You can apparently see the whole island (if you go to Sal) in one day.
The weather is normally gorgeous, quite hot but with a cooling breeze so perfect for beach stuff. Loads of people apparently go there for windsurfing. Food is not brilliant as everything has to be imported, they can't grow anything. Loads of fish. It's quiet but lots of new hotels are being built and lots of people buying apartments there. My parents said it's what it was like in the Canaries twenty years ago, so now is a good time to go. Unemployment is high so they need the tourism.
Hi Brenda If you would like the email address for the Cape verde I have just had some new info through with new flights etc on it I can send it onto you Sue
You never know we might end up going at the same time. LOL How many times have friends and neighbours bumped into each other in foreign places. Only joking I am glad you liked it Sue
