....bit of a long shot coz this has been posted at some point before, many moons ago. But, as someone said there are a lot of knew members now........
I've filled in as much as I can on All Breeds........if you type in her name, then you'll get the info.....I can't add the link (it comes up as just Astar - (which is the wrong horse LOL)
Her pet name is Astra and am missing a few holes regarding her background. Am OK with pics of her ancestors, although missing one of her damn (Star Fantasy AHSB 8071.....if anyone could get a pic of her I'd be made-up)).....and I know she had a son (Je-Phari AHSB 24270 by Jetsetter AHSB 12898).......
Does anyone have an inkling where she came from or who bred her....and who bred her son?...
She's a rescue horse and so background on her is limited....and would love to see a pic of her son
She's grumpy, difficult....got a lot of issues but, the light of my life......I'd just love to fill in the holes of where she came from and any close relations she might have...have tracked down a couple
Thanks
x

Hi Grumpy ( you have got to get another name !) I'm really interested in your mare as she is closely related to one of our mares. Your mare was bred in 1985 by Miss H. Chapman her strain is Hamdanieh Simrieh, she had a foal in 1993 called Je'phari who was bred by Miss J.A.Cox.
Your mares dam Star Fantasy and my mares granddam, Moon Fantasy are full sisters, they both carry a double line to Starguard who was exported, It is a very good performance line. Our mare is called Cacharel, there is a picture of her on our website. I'll try and find some time later to check if she had any other registered foals, Hope that helps a bit Mandy |

Thankyou so much Bia for doing that for me......I've always thought she had a good background. Unfortunately, I don't show so she'll always be my "happy hacker" but, it's nice to know that she was well bred and am hoping to be riding and looking after her for many years to come........my old girl is a Crabbet girl YAY.....LOL.....not that it would really matter, have just been really curious.
Mandy......am always interested in any relatives, whether past or present so is really nice to hear from you.....have looked at Cacharel (who is gorgeous) and I think it's something to do with the eyes......as I've been told before (by NickyF)........you can see the similarities for sure.......
Does anyone know Miss Chapman or Miss Cox? Am presuming they live in Essex......are they a stud or a one-off who breeds nice horses?
Am not sure where to go from here.......I'd love to see some pics of her damn......and of her son....and of Jetsetter (who is this man who was brave enough to mate with her? LOL)..but, apart from that, it's just lovely to share info and learn about her past/present and relatives......
Thanks so much........
Nikki x
PS.....If you want to know anything about Astra and stuff.....feel free to ask

Hi GrumpyMare,
Just a small snippet of info for you. Jetsetter was or is owned by Jane van Lennep, she runs Simple System feeds. You will probably be able to contact her via a website if you google the company name, and she is sure to have some pics of Jetsetter.
Hope this helps.

Hi just been looking, miss Hilary chapman that breed your mare owned the pulpits arabian stud in Hockley Essex and Miss Jackie Cox lived in Canvey Island Essex we were friends when i lived there and we both purchased fillys from Hilary Chapman the same year i purchased Zeeronet by the same stallion as Astra but out of Loranet a liver chestnut mare, the mare Astra is out of was a twin, she was quite a stroppy youngster and was broken as a 4yr old i rode her a few times and she liked to give you a hard time, i moved away from canvey and lost touch with Jackie so dont know how she became a rescue horse, it all seems such a long time ago, i have got pics of MUZEERO, and my filly Zeeronet i sold my filly at 3yrs old as she didnt get to the size i wanted, if you would like to know anymore let me know. Carla....thanks for that. I'll try and contact Jane via her web-site.
Hi Sharon.....lovely that you spotted my post , and for the info you gave me. I heard a couple of weeks ago that Hilary had passed away
Interesting that Astra's damn was a twin! Do you know the name of her twin?
Am not sure if I'm reading your post right: "she was quite a stroppy youngster and was broken as a 4yr old i rode her a few times and she liked to give you a hard time".....was that Astra or her damn? LOL
Muzeero is at the horse refuge too, and I see him a few times a year, he's 29 now and not doing too bad at all for his age
The lady who owns him became very ill and wasn't able to care for him so the refuge looks after him for her. She also owned Astra (who she found after searching for Muzzy's off-spring)....but, she became too much for her so she sold her to the owner of the refuge.
I did some volunteer work at the refuge for about 2 years and fell in love with Astra when I first went there......she was quite the girl, very un-predictable, lethal back feet, a nightmare to rug and mount, and just generally the most grumpy, cantankerous little mare I'd ever met but, it didn't stop me LOL
When my time came to leave the refuge I couldn't bare to leave her behind after all the work I'd put into her while I was there, so asked the owner if I could have her (cheeky!)....and he said YES!
She now lives at a little quiet farm, just a couple of minutes away from me.......and is the light of my life. She's changed so much and I can do pretty much anything with her. She still has her moments and doesn't do well around people she doesn't know....but, she's very happy and settled and is a wonderful horse to hack out, despite her moments of sheer cheekiness.
She's 22 now and I've had her for nearly 6 years. She really doesn't look her age, and can certainly give a youngster a run for their money when I give her her head....
Anyhoo.....better go, the kids are up.......
Thanks again for everyone's input.
Nikki x

Hi Nikki yes it was Astra that was a stroppy youngster and liked to give her rider a hard time, Moon Fantasy was Star Fantasy,s twin sister they looked the same as well, we went to hilarys stud a lot as we purchased the fillys when they were only a couple of weeks old, my filly Zeeronet was born on the 17th march 85 and i think Astra was born in May so got to know all of hilarys horses very well, as i said it all seems such a long time ago, very pleased Astra is loved and cared for. Hi Nikki, Sorry I haven't been in touch for a while, I've not been too well lately (see thread 'I had a heart attack')! This is fascinating stuff, I see Rossi has 2 full sisters and a brother (Muzeero x Phareller). Bia worked out his Crabbet percentage for me and he is 65.23% - he also has Polish, Russian and a few drops of French blood for good measure! She also worked out Tanni's Crabbet percentage - he is 99.4% (wow!). Now I know why he always looks so pleased with himself!
Good luck with your quest into Astra's roots - I will come and see you one day, when I am feeling better - give Muzzy a sloppy kiss for me next time you see him! Nicky |

LOL Sharon....that explains it....she's a stroppy oldy now , although a bit more mellow.
Mandy.....if I find anything else, especially pictures - I'll let you know. Cacherel is beautiful.....she's got the same eyes as Astra, which seems to be the main feature in their lines.
