Hi Donna, I've worked out that Estar is (roughly) 45% Egyptian, 20% Polish, 20% English and 15% Spanish. I did round up- or down decimals to make it easier to read (and remember) for you. I hope I'm not so far from the truth!

Hi I think you will find the allbreed's pedigee is wronge Scheherazade....is not a TB...but breed by Bjoerkmann 1968... by Exelsjor...PASB VIII 36...1963 breed at Janow out of Lalaga...SA 78/68 1963 breed by P.Lindsay both definitely ARABIAN. That is half the Polish bit!!!!!! Stevie |

i want a show quality foal so i can try to in hand show it. i also adore riding arabs and show jumping so the foal would be used for that aswell. If the foal was a colt, then eventually i would use him for my stud which I am going to be set up in a few years time.
I have been looking at Yavit and Psy Dream from Armada Arabians for her next year |

Hi Stevie, your right.. I've corrected the pedigree at allbreed. I just want to tell you and everyone else that I always work with a printed pedigree from AHR Database in US! Sometimes I check at Allbreed, mostly for correcting.. arrgh!

Hi Bia, Yes its OK if you know your own family of horses, but you must be carefull when doing reserch! With Estara,it must have been put on allbreeds by someone not really knowing her pedigree?? But keep up the good work Stevie x |

Thank you Stevie!
I forgot to say that I also have a few books that can help me:
The Arab Horse Families Of Great Britain 1875-1973, Dr P.J Gazder The Arabian Horse Families Of Poland 1790-1987, B. Fahlgren Lady Anne Blunt (J&C) 1878-1917, R. Archer and J. Fleming The Crabbet Arabian Stud, Its History & Influence (new and revised ed.) The Classic Arabian Horse, Judith Forbis All Swedish Studbooks, all Blommeröd Stud's breeding-books Two old AHR studbooks (vol. V & VIII)
I would like to find some for the Egyptian, Spanish, Russian, French.. etc, but have not search for them yet.
Allbreed pedigree is a big mess, I never trust it without doublecheck. Even the AHR Database has some faults 'here and there'!!

I don't understand wot you mean??"" why put her in foal as a 6year old""??She was born 93 so was actually 5 when coverd.Do you mean why did i not cover her at 3 year??
I was told once by a very good rider.joking, that he would'nt want to ride her,and being's I only hack out ,and was riding her half sister,I don't bother. She came with me to Spain, Estar was a foal at foot, did'nt like it so I sent her back,to stay with Andrea. We sold her later to a home that would ""keep her for life"".
Hi Donna, yes I know you love Estar...and I can't wait to see him. Stevie x

Just thought I'd let you know that I have decided to put Estara to Tobago next year via AI.
Were you serious Stevie about eventually taking her back? |

Hello - I've only just seen this thread - but as Tobago's proud owner I just wanted to say that I am delighted to have Estara booked to him for next year!
Her pedigree is fabulous, and should be a perfect match for Tobago's. I've been told, by far more expert breeders, that he will cross particularly well with these lines, so I hope Lauren will get her super show/performance/stud-foundation horse from this match!
Thanks for the recommendation, Stevie! Tobago is indeed the leggy, refined type that you suggested Lauren should go for, and quite tall, about 15.2 - and as you say, a lovely horse, with an excellent pedigree!
I would normally agree with you that 'one gets what one pays for' with stallions, but I am not in this for money, and I feel very strongly that champion stallions should be available at prices smaller breeders can afford. So although Tobago is not cheap, I do give concessions for special mares, and for kind, dedicated owners, who will give his foals good, loving homes.
You must be pleased that Estara has ended up with such a nice owner - it must be so distressing to find that a horse one has bred is being shunted about from pillar to post. And I can assure you that she will get the best of care at Cliveden Stud when she visits Tobago there next year. Is there anything we should know about her quirks or likes and dislikes, to make sure she is happy and comfortable there?

As I was only given Estara in August and she has been living out, i havent really had the chance to find out what she likes and dislikes, apart from treats and grass that is!
Hopefully I will find out more about her ways before she visits Cliveden so I will let you know! |

Sorry Lauren - I didn't make it clear that question was for Stevie! I know you haven't had this lovely girl very long, so I was hoping maybe her former owner could tell us a bit more - particularly about any quirks with her seasons/cycles, etc. - or just any details about her character/habits that might be helpful?
Thanks for the pics of Estar and Anjelica - both absolutely gorgeous; Estar is a really handsome boy, and Angelica has such a pretty head! |

Lauren - sorry I haven't been able to reply to your latest email - my home phone (landline) is down so no internet atm - I'm in the office using another computer today.
Should be back online at home by Wednesday - assuming I can get my mouse working again (that's packed up too - it's gonna be one of those weeks, I think)in time to receive more piccies!
Lovely offer from nat - I'm looking forward to visiting her 'Tobagoling' as well! There should be about 19/20 foals by Tobago on the ground next year - as well as nat's I would particularly recommend that you go and see Red House Arabians' foal out of RH Karismma (WSA Charismma x RH Karina by Ibn Estasha) who is of similar breeding to your girl.
Also (as you are hoping for a show-baby) you might want to check out his foals out of the well-known showgirls Shangrila (Kais x Shambala), Fantastika (Kubinec x G Fantastica) and G Forgetmenot (Top x For the Moment). And if you fancy a trip to Belgium, the Tobago-babies from DA Fiestaa (Echo Magnificoo x Cheyanne), MB Fantasiaa (Krimson Fame VF x DA Fiestaa) and MB Naomi (Padrons Kadar x Eevangeline DS)should also be very nice - I hope!
I will be visiting them all shortly after they are born, and you would of course be very welcome to come with me! By happy coincidence my mother lives in Belgium, so we would have a place to stay if you'd like to come with me to visit the Euro-babies...
