Hi, I think my old mare was related (but not very closely) to Nurbibi. She was by Nazrat. I still have her son and he is grey though his dad was chestnut. She was bred to Nazrat before he went to Guccis. It was such a shame he was never ridden (as far as I know). I heard that he was named Nazrat as when he was born Tarzan was on the telly!! |

hi gossy, I dont expect you will know her because she was one of Nazrats early offspring. Both Nazrat and Sahara Duke belonged to Mr and Mrs Titcumb from Camborne in Cornwall. They were pretty well the only arabian stallions around the area at the time. It looks like the two stallions ended up at Millfield when Titcumbs retired. But anyway she was called Nazeefa(Nazrat/Zareef of Knotting)she was put down at 27 (I bought her when she was 5) and is buried here just by the gate of her field. I never really did the showing bit with her but she raced, did two AHS marathons, lots of 25 mile rides and all the usual riding club stuff. It was impossible to tire her out but unfortunately she was very difficult to get in foal and hold the foal so she only had two babies. She was my first pure bred arabian. |

Hi Jill, yes she does ring a bell, naz was a fantastic boy, he was such a fit and
gorgeous boy, i am honoured to see any of his offspring, he was one of the old school stallions, he was used as a teaser alot in his older years, but he did indead have alot in him. i spent quite alot of time with him. what a treasure.xx Paula. |

hi Paula, its really interesting to hear this. Im hoping that he spent the rest of his days happy and well looked after and didnt go the way that some of the others seemed to have done? I only saw him a couple of times at a stud visit. Sahara Duke was the one they promoted more and seemed to be more "fashionable" at the time but I much preferred Nazrat and the few offspring of him that I have seen have all been good performance horses with great temperaments. Zeefy was quite a lot bigger than him (a bit over 15 hands) - but rode much bigger than that. I have her son and she had a filly for a friend but I dont know where she is now(the filly I mean!)- tried a couple of postings on here with no result at all. Titcumbs didnt have any of their horses ridden which was a shame as I reckon he would have been a corker!! Naplyv his sire was a great performance horse apparently. |

do you know what happened to Nazrat - did he end his days there? Sahara Duke must have been backed after he left Titcumbs - he did look to be a bit of a pain in the manners dept when I saw him at a stallion parade.! |

hi Paula, it would be nice to know but that would make him 39 now(I reckon?) He is also my geldings grand dad. There arent an awful lot of stock by him on all breeds so if hes been used since leaving Guccis the offspring havent been entered. do you know where he went? |

Havent a clue, but im sure there are people on here who might know, or who have past stud directories, it was Felicity Harper of the Bristol/wessex group that told me he was still alive back then, that would of made him 33/34 if he died 5 years ago, i will ask her and let you know!! a great person to ask on here who is very knowledgeable is Bia. |
