Had a fabulous day at the Royal International - first time I've ever been so really nice. Shame about the ground though - and god wasn't the stable area awful!! Richard Mills rode all the horses wonderfully considering most were a little on their toes with a combination of the event, the ring, the ground and the weather. He was very compassionate and took them all on a nice long ride. Congratulations to everyone, there was 10 entered and 10 showed up on the day which was wonderful. I thought Louisa did a fabulous job on a very big and bouncy Shesk He really looked like he was having fun!

That was an understatement if ever I read one!!!! Anyone there will know what I'm talking about
As for the ring, try negotiating 16hh of bounciness round a bog that seems to be getting smaller every circuit! Richard Mills rode beautifully, but then he did have the added advantage of an empty ring..Well done everyone.. |

well all i can say is mud glorious mud...well, i was towed into the lorry park , and towed out again...along with everyone elsei have NEVER seen anything like it! still despite the soggy proceedings i had a good day, i was just happy to be there! - i am not impressed by the river lawn ring though its not very good to ride in a all even on a dry day..and i have a nasty bruise on my eye from being smacked in the face by low hanging branches around the ring , rubbish was nice to see you shah!dotn know if anyone else from AL watched?? what did they think to do the day anyway good luck to those still going@ weekend , just make sure you take lots of boots ( human) and bandages ( horses) its impossible to stay clean |

Well done to you all for supporting the Royal International Show with your wonderful Arab horses. What a shame you couldn't go in the main arena - now that is some place Fancy saving it for the showjumpers
We thought we'd try the British Nationals this year But would have needed flippers and a snorkel
I thought I'd read somewhere that Mr Conifey was judging - but see you mention Richard Mills.
Really hope they get sponsorship again next year, would be awful if we lost the classes.
Many congratulations again. |

Hi Jude
John Conifey was down to judge on the schedule, i noticed it was changed to Richard Mills nearer the time. I imagined this was because as John Conifey is the HOYS judge it wasnt the correct thing to judge RIHS too, i know its not a qualifier but that was my take on it.

Hey Angie! How are you Rob and the girls? Hope their all well, and give them my love. I accosted poor Louisa after thinking 'right that's def the biggest grey here - has to be Shesk' LOL Will have to arrange for you, me and Sue to get together at some point for a major catch up!
Wish we had got a picture of Shesk and Sheena weaving through the crowd - an amazing sight!

Hi lissy
I have sent you a message on the RIHS thread in the main topics forum babes.
For sure we must get together soon - been way to long
I am so proud of Louisa and pesky rabbit, what a partnership (bit like your girlies I hear!!!) People who are afraid of loan relationships should be aware there are some success stories and some truly dedicated & lovely people out there It's not been an easy journey for Louisa, she took Shesk on as a green lawn mower and her hard work and commitment is finally starting to pay off.
Well done to everyone who braved the elements of this show - we certainly have some seriously great ridden horses around at the mo

Hi Ang,
Definitly get in touch with Sue and sort somthing out - I'm happy to travel up to you guys and we can all meet up for a good chin wag.
I definitly agree with you re lease arrangments. I must admit I do cringe and thank my lucky stars when I read about some of the terrible tales that are posted on here.
It always seems a bit of a dream how smoothly leasing Sheena has been - to say that Emily has exceeded expectations with Sheena would be an understantment - you know what her temprement is like. it was never going to work if it wasn't just the right person, but then I think you and I are the same - we would have been happy to see being backed, enjoying life and making the odd entrance to the showring. Who would have thought our troublesome babies would be so lucky to find such wonderful and understanding foster Mums! For me to watch Sheena and Emily together sometimes is like wathcing someone weave a spell.
Lissy xx
