Hi all
Here is a picture of the lovely Quadeha sire of the Fayrelands and many of the Shulay horses.
Does anyone have any full body shots of him?
Also did anyone ever see either Donax or Krysia?
Debbie

We had our horses stabled with Pauline in those days, and knew Donax, Krysia and of course Quadeha. All absolutely lovely horses, but I don't think that I have any photos. Sorry. |

Thanks Lynda. I was fortunate enough to see Quadeha shortly after this photo was taken. He was an old boy and Carol didnt want him photographed out of the stable because (in her view) he was a shadow of his former self. He still looked mighty fine to me. I have found a black and white picture of Donax but know nothing about Krysia, which I thought strange as her dam Karramba was so famous. Debbie |

Krysia was a lovely bay mare, and was full sister to Kossack. She was a tall mare with the most wonderful temperament. I'll have a look through photos to see what I can come up with.
I'm sure that Pauline showed her at the Arab Show with a foal at foot, and that would be between '76-80. |

I met Donax and Krysia a few times when taking mares to him. He was a lovely boy. There is one of his sons in Wraysbury near Staines. He is beautiful, Ishmaan (Donax x Jaala Sbeyel(Darjeel)) Nut on here has an Ishmaan son. |

Hi Krab Yes please. I have a daughter (Fayrelands Hawaiian Dawn) of Quadeha, and a great granddaughter (Springtimer Fabulous who is by Shulay Faberge). I have posted pictures of Fayre on the main AL forum (My Fayrelands Palomino). There are pictures of Jazz (Springtimer Fabulous) under the Roundhills and Zalaman threads under Pedigrees.
What colour is Fayrelands Royale? Debbie

Thanks for the information Lynda. It is lovely to put a colour and a mental picture together for these horses even if no photos available. Krysia sounds lovely.
I remember seeing Zircon Nazeer when he was young and have a picture of him somewhere. Am lucky to have the one I have of Quadeha because I havent come across any others.
There is a gorgeous colour picture of Donax though that is in the AL archives if anyone is interested. I havent seen that one anywhere else. Debbie

Just for interest, in this sections (Pedigrees & Bloodlines), there is a thread called "Offspring from Queen Yasimet". Queen Yasimet was half sister to Donax, being out of Dargemet, I though you might like to see her photos.

Hi Carla Thanks for mentioning the Queen Yasimet thread. Doesnt she look similar to Quadeha? She looks lovely and how fab that she lived to 29. I hope my girl can reach that age. Debbie x |

Hi all
I have just received a copy of the Winter 1994 AHS News magazine that I won on e-bay and as fate would have it, it contained an obituary from Pauline Hutchins in honour of Krysia.
It says
KRYSIA ARABIAN (RUSHTI/KARRAMBA) 1964 - 1994
Obituary from AHS News magazine Winter 1994
“the sad death of our much loved foundation mare Krysia was a great personal loss. She was the most incredible brook mare, and with our very own Donax, produced a consistent string of major show prizewinners year after year. These included two British National Champions and two Reserve British National Champions. This cross proved to be extremely prolific and although Krysia is gong, she will never be forgotten. She left us a final and most precious gift, her last daughter Zircon Karisma, whose photo appears on the opposite page. A fine tribute to a very ”special” mare
Thought some of you might be interested. I didnt realise she was the Zircon studs foundation mare. How lovely that she reached the grand old age of 30. Does anyone know how old Donax was when he passed away?
Best wishes Debbie

Wow Offira. That is fab. Thankyou so much for posting it. Now we have a full body shot. Although he was still a handsome boy on my headshot it is great to see him in the full flush of youth. He looks such a lot like the colour picture of Donax that Anfi posted. Do you have a relative? Debbie |

No sadly I don't own a relative. Photos of the Donax x Krysia horses were in every issue of the AHS news in the 80s. They were so lovely, my favourites were Quadeha and Kadishka. Actually Rishenda was pretty amazing too! |
