Having at the age of 35years commited to my most recent purchase - namely a very opionionated 13.2 middle weight cob mare, i figured we had best get a saddle that would make her job as easy as possible so ended up getting a WOW saddle. After four fitting attempts the saddle has at last stopped rolling (she is rather round) and we are BOTH going much nicer, thank you
So now i'm getting bored with tack cleaning the underside and started looking at half wool numnahs... arrrrrrrhhhhhhh Never struggled so much! Plllleeeeeasssse has anyone found the perfect numnah fit for the below...???
17.5in seat, VSD panels
I really dont mind if it has wooly bits front and back but do like it to be underneath.
Any suggestions (other than dont be so lazy and clean your tack!)??
My saddler makes the numnahs for the WOWS (he sells/fits them as well - saddles that is)!! They are thin & fit perfectly (mines the VSD as well). I've got the 1/2 fleece ones - very nice! Graham Butt 01874 638091 HTH
That sounds like the ideal solution! I use a Griffin hi-wither dressage numnah (no fleecy bits) but I have the dressage WOW so am not sure whether it would fit as well for the VSD.
A very thin numnah is best as it doesn't interfere with the fit of the saddle. I think WOW now make their own numnahs and girths to go with the saddles.
I have a Griffin Hi Wither Half Wool Numnah which is a GP cut but actually fits my VSD fine!
Liv - my saddler makes (or at least he did when I last spoke to him!) makes the numnahs for WOWs (he was in on the development of the saddles). Yes - you only need a thin numnah - as the saddles fit so well!!!
